Short and SWEEEEEEEEEEET Both bands rocked in their own way!

These are from Gemm.com (because you can compare and get cheap prices with a great selection)
Velvet Monkeys @ GEMM
I suggest the Rock The Nation/Why Don’t We Do It In The Road 7" single for starters.

Deep Wound —

Mascis @ Gemm

Dinosaur Jr @ Gemm

More with J as a guest

I’m sure you should be able to find it somewhere on the internet. I just checked http://www.musicstack.com and they have quite a lot of the Velvet Monkeys, as does http://www.vinyltap.co.uk
There is only one thing from Deep Wound on http://www.ebay.com , but I’m sure if you look on some other sites, and check Ebay now and then, you should find more in no time.

Yes, ’tis accurate; I have a good memory. Besides, I would never make up anything that sick.

I think Where’d You Go is OK, and a good choice as a single. I think it has more commercial appeal than anything J has previously put out as a single, and is possibly the most ‘commercial’ sounding track on the album. However, I agree that Same Day is better. I reckon All The Girls would also make a good single.

I was a bit disappointed with Can I Tell U Stories… Talking of B-sides, I still think Start Choppin’ backed with Turnip Farm and Forget It was the best.

I can see why J said that when Lou started talking he realized he didn’t like Lou that much. Lou sounds like a psycho. "J was mean to me so I want to kill him!" Uh, which is worse, kicking a nut out of your band or killing someone for it, I wonder. No moral dilemna there, at least for a semi-normal person. I can relate anyway, I’ve never had more than a very few friends and it’s because the more I have gotten to know people, usually (but not always) the less I want to be around them. I think I would have dumped Lou also, but probably sooner. J’s music improved vastly when he tore that monkey off his back and started playing his heart. If that last post is accurate, I just lost what little respect I might have harbored for that pitiful crybaby.

Rosa, the pick up you use really makes alot of difference to the sound the pedal makes. Acoustic guitars really hate distortion so make sure the pickup is not inturnal as they tend to feed back . Try using a humbucker pick up which sounds pritty good. As far as pedals go i use a Boss metal zone mt-2 which seems to work very well. But i believe a good sound is in the pick up.

I must say I smiled when I saw J on Saturday Night Live this year. When he was waving to the cameras during the end of the show I suddenly remembered an old GQ interview with Lou Barlow I’d read. During the worst part of their relationship Lou used to have this fantasy that Dinosaur Jr. would play on SNL, and that, after their performance, he would kill J with his bass then kill himself, leaving the audience wondering what a horrible person J must have been. Jeers to Lou for being such a child- J made it just fine without you.

Im glad its doing well, glad I bought it, but.. well, it’s a bit dull isn’t it? Youd have thought he would have wanted to advertise the album not put people off of it!

The album has far better choons imho

It’s hard to compare the three because they’re all playing stuff J wrote. Like Charles Bukowski said, "The best interpreter of a dream is the dreamer." They are all good drummers but I would have to hear them each play unique material to compare their skills. But if you’re asking who should play drums for J’s music the answer is only J. Anyone can play a cover!

He is a part of the cast for the Michael Richards Show (Kramer).
