Albert CamusCalling all Oz Mascis Fans,
You lucky so & so’s…heres hoping you check it out and leave a set list for the oh so envious north american fans…please!!!

Mike Mascis is J’s bother. I think he has a couple of sisters too.
As far as I know, J doesn’t have any kids.
"If you can’t pay money… At least pay attention!" – My DadI dont know why he hates humbuckers so much, but I think I read somewhere that he was using a guitar with humbuckers!

Albert CamusWow! Good one, Spaceboy. Now, if I could only think of a respectable question….
Hey Dimpfelmoser,
58 films in 11 days….not bad at all, sounds like a great experience. Soundtrack with a couple of Stooges songs, definitely up for that…hopefully the cheques are in the mail for the Stooges. Lily Taylor is very cool, not much of a courtney fan though. American Nightmare sounds interesting, Cronenberg kinda creeps me out though but I will keep my eyes peeled for that one. I love horror films, not the slasher type but the old monster movies like the original Dracula with Bela Lugosi, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible man….hollow man sucked so badly why do they bother when the originals are so cool. Ed Wood’s Plan 9 from Outerspace and Bride of the Monster are hilariously cool as well, picked up a 3 pack of Ed Wood classics…came in a fluffy pink pack, not angora though. A friend gave me a copy of an Ed Wood book, it was 2 books in one Death of a Transvestite on one side and flip it over and there is Devil Girls. Definitely trashy but hilarious at the same time.
Recommend the video Ed & His Dead Mom, stars Steve Buscemi….he is one of my fav’s.

Whatever happened to Maximum Rock´n´Roll? I used to enjoy that a lot.

if you don’t find what you are looking for, ask for itI just got back from the Berlin Film Festival. Saw 58 movies in 11 days and there is some stuff worth seeing. First the Film that got the golden Baer, Intimacy by Patrice Chereau. Not my personal favorite but definatly recommended. And Bates, you gonna like this, there are two Stooges songs on the soundtrack. I should warn you that this film has the most realistic sex scenes (not very erotic though) that I´ve ever seen on the screen. Julie Johnson with Lily Taylor and Courtney Love was good too, but basically because I just love Lily Taylor. She was there too, only 20 feet away. What a great moment of my life.
Actually I saw Crumb years ago on this very festival and thought it was a great documentary. Not so much about Crumb but about America.
This years best documentary was An American Nightmare. A film about the 60/70s horrorfilmmakers, Craven, Carpenter, Cronenberg and their peers. Not my genre, but a real nice documentary. Goddspeed you black Emperor did half of the soundtrack.
Also worth seeing: Werkmeisters Harmonies by Bela Tarr. Series Seven, Italian for Beginners (a Dogma film from Denmark, like a soap opera dogma style, but really funny and not as corny as you would think), Don´s Plum (the film that Leonardo Dicaprico doesn´t want us to see, I don´t know why really) and the Claim by Michael Winterbottom. This was a right tearjerker. Beautifully done.

if you don’t find what you are looking for, ask for itSpaceboy – I was speaking to a guy at Warner Bros about this a few years ago because J’s manager at the time had raised the issue of a Dino Best of in an interview following the band’s split.
Warners were keen but I think the main problem would be sorting out which label it would come out on – early stuff was on SST and other labels, later stuff on Warners. It would most likely be a Warners release but they would have to pay SST and Homestead to license the tracks and they would probably want a lot of money.
I imagine something will come out at some point but with Fossils and Quest already in existence it may be a while.
I would quite like to hear an official live album – perhaps of Dinosaur/J + The Fog through the ages.

Allison
Hey getmythumb,
CD 2 tracks are Out There, Get Me (peel session) Severed Lips (goodier session) and finally Thumb (goodier session)
Allison
Hey, can some one tell me the track listing for the 2cd ‘out there’ single?
"Hey" and "Mikes gonna play a little something now" – The only things J said when I got to see him in concert.About GOO, J sings in "Tunic", "Mote" and "My friend Goo". Don Flaming also sings in two tracks.
Jayloumurph, Teenage Riot is included in DAYDREAM NATION, not in SISTER (PENDEJO).I think I rather like the TUFF GNARL version included in Mike Watt’s BALL-HOG OR TUG-BOAT.
"At the end, I went to jail & got executed just because I didn’t cried at my mother’s funeral."
