"Randy Jane " wrote:Just a thought, old guitars (some old guitars) came with a brass plate attached to the back of the headstock to add sustain. I’ve never played a guitar with this plate so I don’t know if it actually worked or not, but I would imagine that if you could get a pickguard made of brass, that would look cool and serve a purpose.
I don’t think a brass pickguard will be as effective at increasing sustain. The reason the brass plate on the headstock works is that the headstock lacks mass in comparison to the body. I assume increasing mass anywhere on the guitar will help sustain some, but the body already has substantial mass… the idea is to even-out the two ends.

Damn… 20 hours?!?! I can barely make it through a regular 8.
Good luck… be safe.

I think it’s funny that you see Rumsfeld’s "resignation" (which, of course, it was not) as a victory for the Dems. Actually, it’s a strategic move by the GOP. If you remember, Rumsfeld offered his resignation twice before, and Bush wouldn’t let him go. So why get rid of him now? Simple… with the shift in balance of the Senate, the GOP knows that Rumsfeld will be one of their first targets, and that ousting him would be a victory for them… so they ditch him now and deprive the Dems of their chance. It’s the ever-famous "you can’t fire me, I quit" routine.
If you’re not looking for volume, but just want great tone, check out the Roland Micro-cube. It’s tiny, but I’m really impressed with the sound.

I woke up this morning, and my wallet felt lighter.

I used to like snow… but after breaking several bones and developing arthritis, I’m in a lot of pain anytime the temperature drops below 50. Unfortunately, here in MA, that’s about 7 months out of the year!

Hmmmm… I would say that i’d like to see a picture of your tiny cans… but I’m afraid it may be taken out of context!

Maybe the cans were full when the person knocked on the door, but he drank them all while waiting for you to get out of the shower. Then, having drank far too many sodas, he had to use the bathroom rather urgently… so he ran off in search of relief, leaving all the empty cans behind.
Or maybe someone just left you their garbage.
While you are correct that Jimi used the FuzzFace on all his albums, I remember reading in an interview with Mike Matthews that Jimi had one of the first Big Muff prototypes in 1970, and he was using it in the studio. Supposedly, Jimi liked the sound of the Big Muff better than the FuzzFace, and intended to use it on his future recordings.
Of course… we will never know whether or not that was the case.

Hahaha… sadly, most people around here would think so.
That reminds me… I was once having a discussion about the Boston-area music scene, and somebody actually told me that "no good bands have ever come out of Massachusetts." What?!?! Hmmmmm… DJ, Pixies, Buffalo Tom, Blake Babies, Lemonheads, Mission of Burma, Letters to Cleo, Throwing Muses… yeah, nobody ever came out of Boston.
