the album slays. I didn’t overanalyze the lyrics, but "I don’t wanna go there" is indeed a bit too far on the lazy side. the music is absolutely killer though – every song has something special in there, it’s vital to the album as a whole… it’s an ALBUM, not a collection of songs, something an alarming percent of modern records lack (a few singles + filler. woo -_-‘). it’s a focused, flowing unit. every song is perfectly placed, and essential (yes, even the initially questionable "your weather" grew on me after a few listens, and "friends" turned out to be decent too). also, J solos magically. he keeps growing as a guitarist… I love Farm.
yes, there is a sense of mellowness in the music throughout Farm. of mature, mellow melancholy. but this is so much better than Without a Sound or Free So Free (my two least favorite J-related albums)… I can’t explain the phenomenon…
anyway, about this – maybe let’s try to keep this an insider affair for now, passing on mp3s to trusted people and do our best to avoid causing a major spread. for now, diditleak doesn’t know of this. I can’t find it anywhere online either. those dedicated enough will get it, and that’s the main point – the most passionate fans, who’ll purchase the album anyway when it comes out, will get to hear it and ease their anxiety. let’s keep it away from p2p and file hosting sites…
and a big fat thank you to tom for snatching it. I can’t express my gratitude enough… I’ll start writing a review for sputnikmusic eventually, maybe I’ll post it here before tossing it on the site of choice for you guys to feedback it?

EDIT: forgot to mention – "tonight" for you means "not long before dawn" for europe. I’m from europe. :/
dude omg om gomg omg omg
not on there
dammit
omg omg omg omg!!!
EDIT: someone please put me out of my misery, soulseek’s gonna kill me for all the failed searches in a sec…
it does have that "mellow, mature" vibe to it in places. but it’s not the "flat flute of champagne" vibe of without a sound, it’s a huge step up from it. I’d say "see ya" is the closest to without a sound ya get on here
and nobody will kill ya for not digging idwgt or imagination blind. we’re a respective community… at least I got that feeling during my pretty short (thus far… hope yez won’t mind if I hang around a bit?) stay here
great is an understatement. who’s gonna wipe my brains off the floor now?
"Pieces" is shaping up to be one of the most amazing songs ever, and "Said The People"’s lead meets expectations. in fact, all the lead shardlets meet expectations – J’s soloing is as win as ever. Farm previews make the two mentioned tunes appear as the absolute high point of the album, just insanely great. The rest is pretty damn solid too, no real duds (I’m not that keen on "Your Weather" yet, but it may simply take the whole song to get to like it), very consistent and strong record, there seems to be something special and worthy in every song. I still love it

and if you do find a leak, kindly notify us, or at least me
I’ll be making a beeline to my local music shoppe on the 22nd (since we europe folks get it a day early), but I’m really willing to listen to it asap
you want to die for making me jump like that, no? NO?? ON YOUR KNEES AND BEG FORGIVENESS FOR USING THE L-WORD IN VAIN!!

"Friends" is indeed the weakest bit of the bunch, but it still seems to beat its Beyond counterpart "Been There All The Time"… the songs, even the ones that seem somewhat underwhelming compared to the rest as of now, will probably take off when we get to hear the full things and not merely tiny excerpts like that. I can see my personal favorites becoming even more insanely great when they get a few more fantastic parts and the obligatory beautiful Mascis solo (highest lead expectation goes to "Said The People", that one better have an eye-moistening solo… or else!
)…"Over It" seems like a good choice of a video-worthy single, since it’s the most easily accessible (judging by the clips) and is just so blatantly catchy, I can’t get it out of my head
bound to score Dino at least a bit of attention from the uninitiated. The choice of "I Want You To Know" as the first officially released mp3 remains somewhat odd, since it seems like the track that will take the longest to grow on people (judging by me and the few folks I thrust the mp3 to). Maybe a sly ploy, to have us relisten to it over and over… *whiney voice* "but it’s on the new Dino album, it has to kick ass!" and have us finally get it, and not dismiss it when the full album came out, and the grower of a track drowns in the pure epic win of the rest… and the "I Don’t Wanna Go There" Pitchfork teaser – for those dilligent enough to find it, a taste of the way the album will be solid, but at the same time keeping them waiting for the gigantic album version… it’s all planned out so prefectly! Or I’m just trying to make it make sense

this is beautiful. this is just so goddamn insanely perfect… I don’t get it. it’s impossible. I can’t comprehend it. it just overwhelms me… tiny samples on amazon made me come apart like this, what is the world coming to? this thing is already my favorite dino album, it just clicks with me in a completely incomprehensible (and unforeseen, judging by the way I was initially somewhat neutral-hostile towards "I want you to know") way that… iono… considering how in love with beyond I am, it’s just… I don’t get it.
*relistens to samples. yet again. and will keep doing so for the next three hours before he gets tired (physically. not of samples) and goes to sleep*
thank you, guys… for making farm and letting us get a taste of it.
anybody care to trans it? not everybody is prolific (or even knowledgeable of anything beyond bonjour and merci) in french…
they’d better
I’ll be willing to commute quite a length to see them

*guiltily looks around, quietly peeps* me too…
well, thank you for the notification!
seems like "Farm" is slowly leaking onto the interweb, track by track… purposefully… well, I don’t mind
"Over It" is the only new song that didn’t have any incubation period at all, it just kicked in with the awsum right away… it’s a good single then
makes me understand "I Want You To Know" 100% now. Pity there’s so little lead action.Anyway, I come bearing a gift to those who keep the watch and everybody else following along. I snagged the mp3s in 192… somewhat more listenable than 96, so I’m sharing them with you

imo, it’s got a somewhat Fog vibe to it indeed, but not without a fair touch of "Without A Sound"… it’s fun, finding traces of old flavors in a new tune.
…just gave "I Want You To Know" an apology hug and we’re buddies now. It’s like with "Without A Sound" – it simply took a few listens to completely get the tune. Plus, there was also the slight surprise element of the second track of the album turning out to be a relatively soft and inoffensive ditty. Somehow I never took into account that we could get a second "Crumble" on here… *shrugs, listens to "I Want You To Know" again* June is still far, but at least I’ve got another munchie to keep me busy.
underwhelmed upon first few listens. gotta give it a few more rounds. "I don’t wanna go there" didn’t connect at first either. but this connects way less… darn
