John Fahey – Best of (59-77)Have you heard the Dirty Three`s Ocean Songs album? It`s not diverse as Horse Stories but still one of their best work.
A great Fahey album to hear is Days Have Gone By from 1966.It`s one of the best guitar records few people know about.
My First:
Puke And Cry:I was 18 years old sitting in my room listening to the college radio station in July 1991.Luckily I had my tape deck running when it came on.When I first heard J`s voice it was like the voice I waited my life to hear!I waited for the DJ to come back and announce who this band was,he said Dinosaur Jr which was weird since I was having these dreams at the time of being in a record store and seeing these cd`s with pictures of dinosaurs on it.I knew this band was going to be a favorite though I knew nothing at that time about the underground rock scene.
My Favorite:
Severed Lips:this song just kills me,the melody is just so melacholically beautiful.I don`t think I could sing this without tears.First time I heard it was the Blake Babies cover in March 1993.
Welcome Philip

I`m not from Mississippi but yeah it`s a cool state
don`t forget Mississippi John Hurt,Skip James,Charley Patton,Robert Johnson,RL Burnside,Jimmie Rodgers,John Lee Hooker…I thought Johnny Winter was from Beaumont,Texas?Or maybe he just grew up there?
