Should be a cool best of;Rhino does a great remastering job too and very cool pictures and linear notes.Their X anthology a few years back had Pee Wee Herman talking about X!
There`s supposed to be a Uncle Tupelo best of too coming soon on Rhino, that should be great.

Thanks for mentioning "You don`t own me";should have put that to my Musical recycling thread.
Shudder To Think once did a song called "Own Me" which is based on the Leslie Gore song,so might want to check on that out;it`s on their "Pony Express Record" album. They put their own lyrics to it and kind of wreck the original.
I will check out that site, den buck;thanks for mentioning it.

Here`s what I`ve been listening to recently:

Eggs-Exploder-their 2nd album, they did another album called exploder a few years after this.Steve Albini once called them the most boring band he ever heard.I don`t think they`re too bad;if you like Unrest you`ll dig them.
Blood Oranges-Corn River-there`s 2 bulls on the cover, that gets cool points from me,they were a Boston alt country band;their bassist/singer Cheri Knight has recorded some solo albums on Steve Earle`s label.Too bad she did`nt sing lead on this, mostly backing vocals here, the guy does most of the lead vocals, and I don`t like his voice.
Replacements-Tim-great music, the Replacements were fantastic, everyone should check them out,it took me long enough to buy an album by them but I`m glad I did.
Oh Susanna-self titled ep-some gothic hillbilly music, very cool, along the lines of Gillian Welch.
Birddog-A Sweet And Bitter Fancy-more acoustic stuff, folky indie along the lines of Elliot Smith.

King of the losers?I don`t know; This is one of those writers that you don`t know is praising J or dissing him,or both.

                Jaron-
Sgt. Pepper`s is one of my fav Beatles album,I always used to laugh about Mr. Kite;Pee Wee`s Playhouse had Mr Kite,I always thought about that song.Sonic Youth do a cool cover of"Within you without you" on a Sgt. Pepper`s tribute album.
Ramones debut album is great,a blueprint for thousands of bands. An album that changed alot of lives.

Jaron,if Allison was`nt married I`d ride my horse out west and carry her off into the sunset.
But Allison sounds happily married to Voodoo guy so the chance will never come.
I`m too tall anyway,Allison would hurt her neck looking up at me.

                    Everybody`s derivitive.
The classical composer Busoni once said"There is no new."
It`s seems originality is hard to find, but I think what J was drawing from,he evolved it into his own style-Sabbath,Zeppelin,Hendrix,Ramones,Minor Threat,Wipers,Stooges,MC5,VU,Neil Young,Meat Puppets,Sonic Youth, etc.J took all that stuff and developed something new I think.Listen to the amount of Indie bands out there that use J`s melodies and guitar chords;or guitar solos,J introduced guitar solos in the punk/indie/alt world. There is so many bands that use Dinosaur reference points, like Eric`s Trip,Swervedriver,Afghan Whigs,Teenage Fanclub,Bettie Serveert,Rein Sanction,Ripe, etc.
SY`s Steve Shelley said that Thurston and Lee learned alot from J,and SY was recording before Dinosaur was.

In terms of J fans that are female;I once was in a music store back in 94 and two teenage girls were looking at the Dino Jr cd`s and looking for a picture of J,they were saying how cute J was, etc.I guess that proves Evan Dando is`nt the only one that has female fans swoon over him.
The two girls both had band t shirts, one was wearing a Nirvana shirt, the other a Faith No More shirt.

Halfman-Puke And Cry was the first Dino Jr song I ever heard too.I was`nt in Japan though, the funny thing when I heard it was the guy who was playing it at the local colege station did`nt even like Dino Jr.He was playing them to descibe his vacation.
Hope you learn to play Keeblin, good tune.
