Thanks for the info,Allison;Evan must have divorced Kathleen years ago,the marriage I was talking about happened several years ago.
I think that person obviously is`nt much a fan,I don`t like to catergorize people but this woman sounds like an indie elite pro chick rock type;which is fine, but not the kind of person who digs J.
I like Lois Maffeo too(she writes reviews in CMJ magazine as well as a musician)but it seems to be conflicting camps of indie/punk rockers of what`s cool,I think this woman should remember that Donna Dresch was once in Dinosaur Jr.I`m with Jasper on Forget It,great tune.I once was listening to it on my walkman in march 94,walking along a busy highway;with it really loud, one of those canadian winter days of rain and snow;lucky I did`nt get hit by a car.On the other side of the tape was Buffalo Tom`s Big red letter day album,I was switching back and forth from the 2 sides and trying to watch the traffic.
I did`nt get any response about Evan and Kathleen so I`ll mention it again.
Kathleen was in Bikini Kill, the riot grrl band,I read in a book her name had Dando at the end of it,plus there was a fanzine called"my life with Evan Dando";which she talks about him,so it`s pretty good guess that they were married,I was wondering if they still are.
Kathleen was also the woman that Courtney Love suckerpunched at lolapalozza in the mid 90`s.I bought a Replacements album the other day so I`m digging Westerberg`s lyrics.
"All I know is I`m sick of everything that my money can buy."
I`ll come up with more after I listen to it more.Bad Brains-"Another Damn Song"
"another damn song another damn song…"
You get the idea.Jokes:
britney spears,n sync, backstreet boys, limp bizkit, kid rock, etc.I like to say hi to Halfman, welcome to the boards,I noticed you mentioned Sleater Kinney in your profile;cool,we need more SK fans here.
I heard a Sonic Youth bootleg once and at the start of "Drunken Butterfly";Kim says`Evan where are you?`.
Good time now to ask everbody here about Evan`s marriage to Kathleen Hanna, that marriage made no sense to me,are they still married?
anybody know? Thanks for that Allison, always cool to read tour diary stuff.
That band they mentioned-Les Savy Fav is pretty cool,I heard them on the radio before, strange but rocking.I voted for MM,but I love BTS as well, try to see both if you can;check out the BTS live album from last year;don`t bother with the new BTS album,it`s not as good as past albums.
Check out the MM live stuff at the website Spaceboy found.Homestead went under years ago, unless Dutch East is trying to sell off their catalog, don`t expect it to still be available.
Some of the stuff there, like Big Black and Squirrel Bait, has been reissued on other labels.
Lot of cool stuff there, look at all the Live Skull albums!den buck-Varnaline are great,I have their"Sweet Life" album,They used to have another band going at the same time as Varnaline called Space Needle, which was main guy Anders Parker and drummer Jud,who used to play in a Dino Jr. type band called Scarce.
Jud left Varnaline a few years ago so I think Space Needle is broken up.
The new Mercury Rev album should be cool.Good call Bartman!
Afghan Whigs-Black Love;that`s a great album,Gentlemen is my fav Whigs album.
The Whigs early songs are in a Dinosaur/Husker Du vein, like ‘Retarded’ is very J influenced,’Big Top Halloween’ is very Huskeresque.
Love the Whigs, wish more people would get into them.Yeah,J said in a interview that he used to listen to the Beach Boys.
Thank you Deepsludge for the Farrar solo album mention as well,I`m going to check that out.
Have you ever listened to Richard Buckner?,he`s kinda similar to Farrar.
The Handsome Family are great as well.Yeah,J said in a interview that he used to listen to the Beach Boys.

The Handsome Family are great as well.If You like the Spindoctors, fine.
The Monkees were cooler though.
Bob Mould said once that Mike Nesmith was a good songwriter and could come up with a good melody.Oh Yeah-Green Day
Fugazi said once that Green day and the offspring are the ugly kid joes of the mid 90`s.
I agree on that. -
