Steve Albinni once wrote a song called"We Don`t Hate Vegatarians,We Just Think That They`re Funny".
Eating and sleeping are a waste of time, most of our lives are spent on it.
I eat meat sometimes,I eat vegatables sometimes but would rather junk food more than anything else,I know it`s not healthy but it`s the best energy source I know, next to music.Music is problably my #1 energy source.

I thought up some all cover song albums:
Screaching Weasel-Beat is on the brat(the entire Ramones first album covered)
        Vindictives-Leave Home(the entire 2nd Ramones album covered)
Queers-Rocket To Russia(the entire 3rd Ramones album covered)
Schoolhouse rock rocks-those cartoon bits ABC used to air between sat morn cartoons,it includes Deluxx Folk Implosion,Buffalo Tom,Man or Astroman,Pavement, etc.
Saturday morning cartoons-I forget the exact title,Allison mentioned it in the Ramones cover of Spiderman theme,it also has Matthew Sweet
        playing the Scooby Doo theme.
        If I were a Carpenter-Bands like Sonic Youth,Shoenen Knife,Bettie Serveert,etc covering Carpenters tunes,my fav is Redd Kross `s version of `Yesterday Once More`.
Sweet Relief-All Victoria Williams covers, the singer/songwriter who was diagnosed with MS in the early 90`s and did`nt have health insurance, this benefit album includes Soul Asylum,Lou Reed,Shudder To Think,Pearl Jam,Jayhawks(one of them married Victoria Williams).
        Sweet Relief 2-all Vic Chesnutt songs,If you don`t know Vic,he`s a singer/songwriter from Athens,Georgia,a friend of Michael Stipe,who is a parapalegic,He`s also toured with Bob Mould.this compilation includes Soul Asylum,REM,Smashing Pumpkins/Red Red Meat,Cracker,Sparklehorse,Kristin Hersh,etc.
        The Bridge-tribute to Neil Young,has some cool tunes,Dino Jr,Sonic Youth,Pixies,Soul Asylum(again),Nick Cave,Flaming Lips,etc.

I`m not going to go through every tribute record, there`s too many, see if you can think of any good ones, there`s plenty of bad ones out there.

One more thing,I`m not trying to say anything bad about Dylan or Aretha, just that the underdogs should be recognized.

I came across this so I thought I`d comment.
I do hear some Hendrix in J`s playing,Hendrix influenced alot of guitarists,as much as Coltrane influenced saophonists.Jimi`s drummer Mitch Mitchell was hugely influenced
by Coltrane`s drummer Elvin Jones,to link the two musicians together.
Jazz guitarist Sonny Sharrock is someone who I hear when I listen to J `s solos.Back in the 60`s Sharrock developed a rock style of guitar
in jazz, using distortion, feedback and chaotic playing that was common in 60`s free jazz, just free jazzers used mostly saxophones than guitars,so Sharrock was an innovator in the field,he used alot of things Hendrix usually gets creditted with.I think of Sharrock as being the missing link between Coltrane and Sonic Youth.Sharrock died in 1994 of a heart attack and signed to a major label not long before his death, they were going to promote him as "the godfather of grunge",Neil Young gets called that alot, but I think Neil would agree Sharrock deserved the title.
Make no mistake,Hendrix was amazing but there`s always an underdog who does`nt get the credit they deserve. Is Bob Dylan the greatest songwriter or was it Townes Van Zandt?,Is Aretha Franklin the queen of soul or is it Etta James?there is always an overlooked musician who never got their chance.

              which runs VH1 stuff like R n R Jeporady.

Yeah,Whitney;I was trying to think of smaltzy ballads that were covered, and I thought up one,Babes In Toyland `s cover of Eric Carmen`s`All By Myself`,which was also covered by Celine Dion. The Babes cover is funny, they really make fun of it,but start it out partly serious and then start screaming and stuff at the end;it`s on their Nemesisters album.

I did this last saturday, just went through the memberlist and when people mentioned other bands they like I`d write them down on a piece of paper, alot of bands got mentioned, lots of surpises too like some jazz stuff which I was glad to see to Iron Maiden and Slayer, even Limp Bizkit!and some country stuff too like Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, who I think of being about as punk as the Pistols, old country and blues musicians were the original punks, because their music was so raw,as well as jazz musicians like Mingus and Ornette Coleman I think as being punk for their day.
It took me several hours to do it,from 2 in the afternoon to 10:30 at night, not constantly though,I did take breaks.

"hey it`s all on your head, hey is that what you said?"

"you stopped smiling now everything sucks"

It might be J,He can sing pretty high,I really love that song too,It might be Kevin Shields since he was at the More Light sessions but I
don`t know if he can sing that high,so I think it might be J.

I thought some more Monkees trivia that you may or may not know:
-David Bowie changed this name from David Jones to Bowie to avoid confusion with Davy Jones.
-Mike Nesmith`s mother invented liquid paper.
-Michael Stipe said in an interview that the Monkees mean more to him than the Beatles.
-Some critic said once that Weezer sound like the Monkees with distortion.

I was in a music store years ago and the guys kept playing a song by the Monkees over and over again, they must have played it 5 or 6 times,I don`t know what song it was.

I have a Gobblehoof album, self titled from 1989,J plays drums and does some backing vocals and a little bit of guitar. The store I bought it from also had another Gobblehoof album, maybe it was that "Freezerburn" album,I thought I would get it another time but the store was robbed, somone stole 6000 CD`s!.

Here`s Part 7 of "Smokin J" By James Rotondi
                                From Guitar Player Oct 94:
(And to think it all starts out with purple(of course)Dunlop Tortex picks whacking .010 Dean Markley strings.Sounds normal enough-but there`s a catch:"I switch all the .013s with .014s,because I don`t like the number."
                                (what`s this -J Mascis,regular guy,is superstitious ?)"Yeah I`m a little parnaoid,a little psychotic,"(he says in his characteristic
                                tone,a quiet,sleepy mixture of William Burroughs and a Malibu surf dude.)"I`m into…
                                aliens.I was thinking I had been visited,but I don`t know for sure,so I was thinking of being
hypnotized to find out,That should clear up a few things.I just don`t want to know what they`ve done to me.It can`t be pleasant"(J holds his arm out, pointing to a faint but distingushable triangle shaped scar near his left elbow.)"I was getting a massage while I
was on tour, and had it pointed out to me.That night the opening band had these two alien magazines with pictures of all these
people with triangle scars on their backs and behind their knees."(He takes a last sip of Whispering Heaven.)"I`m like,Oh,great.just what I need."

That`s the end of that interview,if you want me to post more, please post a message here.
