Daughter` cd last christmas.

I read in a book once that J played drums with
Nirvana for a while around 1990.

Watt is as good on bass as J is on guitar.I don`t think there is a better bass player in punk/indie/alt rock circles.I heard an interview with mike around the time of ball hog;he seemed to be a fast thinking guy who knows alot about music and playing it.I think J and Mike are a great team.

Jeremiah;have you heard anything about this incident with Iassic Brock I mentioned?I think it happened in 1999.To make myself more clear
the woman complained to the police but no charges were brought to Iassic, the way i wrote it earlier seemed like I was trying to say
people are anti-mouse because of no charges
to Iassic, that`s not what I meant;I don`t know how much an uproar there was from seattle fans or if there was`nt any.Any info on this Jeremiah that you know?

I never understood why Neil teamed up with Pearl Jam,the album was`nt too bad but I thought if Neil was going to work with another band, bands like Uncle Tupelo or the Jayhawks
would be more in line with Neil`s music.

I never got into mainstream alt stuff;Nirvana was good and everyone that followed I did`nt like.I checked out what the local college station was playing and stuck to that;some bands I like are semi-mainstream like Teenage Fanclub.I guess j fits in with the semi-mainstream or maybe not.Indie bands that made moderate sucess might be called semi-mainstream.I don`t like catorgories,I`m sick of
the words alternative, indie, emo said by people
who would`nt know what they mean if they fell over it.Why can`t we call these terms rock music and leave it like that.In indie rock there`s terms like twee pop/slowcore/dream pop/emo/space rock-It`s stupid!every music has these stupid sub-genres in jazz it`s bop/hard bop/post bop/free bop…it`s just jazz!
Oh yeah modest mouse;good band, there is alot
of backlash against them;one reason I think
is Iassic Brock who was`nt formally charged
for date rape of a seattle woman.I heard this on the CBC radio show here in canada called Brave New Waves. It`s pretty disturbing to think that someone we listen to would do this and I hope that he is innocent of it.If Iassic is
reading this I`m sorry for bringing this up but people here don`t understand why there`s so much anti-mouse talk.

I like that episode when they go to NYC.I like that scene where Homer`s driving and `everything is beautiful` comes on the radio and Homer smashes it!Anyone who lived through the 70`s radio on a long car drives with your parents when you were a kid can relate to that!
The lord of flies parody was funny.I also like the episode when Homer has heart surgery and DR.Nick operates on him!"I got the gloves with the toilet brush!","The red thing is connected to the wrist watch"pretty funny!
My Doctor used to look like Ned Flanders! He
does`nt now since he got older but 10 years ago he looked just like him!

I like Sparkehorse too;I really like to hear that interview as well.I have`nt heard the new album yet but I hope to check it out soon.I heard Tom Waits is on it;who I think has the best voice in the world next to J.

Yeah, the Lou-murph section was classic. Some other bands that have great bass/drums back up is Mcnew/Hubley(YLT),Mccombs/Bean(Eleventh dream day),Sally/Parker(Low);I totally agree with Burns/Convertino,they `ve played with a ton of people:Bill from Buffalo Tom,Richard Buckner,Victoria Williams, etc.

Guilty pleasures:
Once in a while I listen to Kate Bush,I have two tapes I bought awile ago;"Never for Ever" and "The Dreaming".`The Wedding List` from never for ever should be covered by PJ Harvey.
Movie-Sgt. pepper`s lonely hearts club band;that sucky 70`s movie with the Bee Gees
and Peter Frampton and a cast of musicians that make no sense such as Hank Williams
jr and jazz sax man Eddie harris.I like the scene when Frampton and Steven Tyler wrestle.
book-"A Tree Grows In brooklyn"-read it in high school; It`s set in the world war 1 era,the teens I have an intrest in that era like I feel I was there or something. It was a cool time jazz just entered the phonograph age and everything about that era just feels so familar.

If John loves the Manics ,fine we should`nt diss him for it.What I like about this site is we all have one thing in common inosaur/J fans
if somone likes a band/artist that we don`t it should be cool with us.I have a friend who is a huge Garth Brooks fan,if that who she likes than ok;as J would say "whatever`s cool with me".
To get back to the topic of celebrity dino fans;did`nt Matt Dillon have something to do with the Get Me video? Is he a J fan?

One band i`ve been impressed with lately is Atombombpocketknife from Chicago. They call they`re music unrock,They are definitely in a Sonic Youth/Dinosaur jr mold, the singer sounds quite alot like Thurston Moore,I don`t think he`s trying to but some singers sound alike by coincidence, you know like Will Oldham and Jason Molina.Anyway check out Atombombpocketknife, they`re on southern records.

I said it before but `the lung` is my fav solo overall, but trying to pick a best solo from J is like trying to pick a Coltrane sax solo or a Hendrix solo. One time I heard `the lung` solo in my dreams! The live recordings of `the lung`I heard are good but the ylaom album version rules. The most beautiful guitar solo ever.A close runner up I think is`whipping post` by the Allman Brothers, the live version from the Filmore, there`s this part towards the end when they slow things down and Duane Allman or Dickey Betts plays this solo that is amazing.I don`t know how many of will diss me for liking the Allmans but I heard this in my pre indie rock days and amazing music sticks to you know matter what music you`re in to.

To get back to Degrassi;A guy in high school said once that I looked like Snake.I don`t seem to think so.just thought I mention it.
