Yeah it is pretty ridiculous. Then again, what Lou should have done was simply say ‘that was 10 years ago’. It’s obvious he enjoys talking about it, which I don’t like at all.
Thanks for the link, briefly made me feel better about school starting on tuesday.

I saw them in NYC and for most of the set (their new stuff) it was amazing. Not a fan of Kim Gordon’s voice though. But still, I’d have to say they are certainly one of my favorite bands and Murray St. is a great record and at least this time around their live show is on the whole very excellent but I’ve heard they’ve been inconsistent in the past.
QOTSA- Songs for the deaf
I second db’s opinion. Mark Lanegan is amazing and Dave Grohl is my hero.
Pavement- Terror Twilight
Modest Mouse- Fruit that ate itself
At The Drive In- El Gran Orgo (Go buy Sparta’s new album…)
Mudhoney- Now that we’ve become translucent
who would’ve thought they’d put out another album. It’s pretty good.so…all they had on was coldplay, although i did miss the first five minutes. they had coldplay songs and interview and i really hate coldplay and i wated but it didn’t come on…sorry.
I just got back from Vermont, and i can do it i think. Between me and Rust Belt Blues we can get it done. it sucks to be back here, this makes me feel better and i’ll share my adventure about seeing Sonic Youth in central park later

A very sad development, the show selling out and all. Anyways…yay for the new J Mascis record August 5, 2002 at 11:08 pm in reply to: Ultimatum will be releasing the new J. & The Fog record #55231So not only are us americans getting it, but we get it 6 days earlier…ha. Man, amazing artwork and you can advance order it….man this is a great day and almost makes me feel better about not buying sonic youth tickets before they sold out. Thanks for the news.
Pavement- Crooked Rain/ Slanted and Enchanted
Pixies- Surfer Rosa
These cd’s are very good.Sparta- Wiretap Scars
…I can’t stress this enough: August 13th it comes out and you should buy it if you liked ATDI. It hasn’t left the cd player since July when I first mentioned it. They’re the next big thing. It’s quite alright, your setlist has helped me fill in the weak spots in my memory. I forgot he played The Lung. Thanks, the blended version is above.
I wasn’t that impressed with him. His set was pretty dull. Just him playing weird chords, not singing, and tapping on a tamborine on the floor.

so screaming tree did ya dance with that crazy woo-man or what?

I sort of just was shocked at this behavior, she just sort of started moving my arms and saying ‘let’s dance’ and I just sort of tried as hard as I could to not laugh at her. Anyways, in the Washington Post today there was the obligatory review by some 40 year old guy who reffered to ‘The former Dinosuar Jr’ playing at the Black cat ‘sans-distortion’ . This is the third show I’ve been to in a row where there’s been a review afterwards that is totally not good. Publicity is publicity I guess. I’d reprint it here but it’s pretty boring, it might be at http://www.washingtonpost.com.
Based on corrections from Jaron and Green Thumb. This should be it.
Freedom
Thumb
Blowin It
Everybody Let Me Down
Quest
Same Day
Ammaring
Goin Home
Little Fury Things
Flying Cloud
Get Me
Rollin On
Not You Again
Lung (first verse only)
Waistin
Alone
Repulsion
Severed Lips
WagonI’d also like to say that some drunk woman was totally being crazy behind me and kept uh, trying to make me dance. Never had that kind of encounter before… It was pretty wild. I noticed that many of the people there looked kind of like me. I believe I may have seen you Jaron.

J played a song that I believe was called Freedom first, then he played the usual stuff but of course it was very special and I was in the second row of people so I was really blown away. Not much more else to say, it was amazing and it was completely opposite of the last Black Cat show I saw where Issac Brock ran his mouth constantly. I don’t even recall if he said hello when he came out. Someone shouted ‘Thank you J whoooo’ after one song and J simply looked at the floor and said "no thank you." People were really in his face with the flash photography, it blinded me as well as him I’m sure. The tape loop thing was crazy. I have a semi complete setlist I’ll put up later. Wow.
