Anyone been to Fiddlers in Bristol before? Apparently the building used to be a prison. Mentions 450 capacity on the web site.
Simon.
It’s my least favourite track on the album, but you’ve done a good job with the cover.
My Frock Steady bundle (CD, t-shirt, badges, sticker) finally arrived (England from Germany via Deutschepost) on Tuesday (September 25). Apart from the lateness, it’s all good. The t-shirt is a good fit (I’d say it’s slightly over-average size for an ‘L’ and generous in length).
“There’s also good news for UK fans as the band will be announcing tour dates in the immediate future. “
Amen to that.
Nice. I wish they had the ‘Tree Head’ shirt in a size ‘L’.
Got this earlier today:
all orders containing a Dinosaur Jr. – bundle have been dispatched on Friday last week and Monday this week.
We’ve sent a mail a few days ago explaining that there was a delay in importing some of the goodies in the packege so we couldn’t send them out prior to release-date as originally planned. However it seems like there was a problem with the mailout as a few more customers claim they have never received this mail.
We’d like to express our sincere apologies for the delay. We can assure you that your record / bundle will be with you asap.
Thanks for your understanding and your patience.
I’ve no idea how long Deutschpost takes from Germany to the UK, so we’ll see…
I logged into my Frock Steady account and the order status is ‘Processing’. I mailed them about 9 hours ago, but no reply as yet. I originally ordered on September 1st.
Simon.
Since my order acknowledgement on September 1st, I’ve had no communication from Frock Steady. The site shows the release date as tomorrow, September 15th, and unless I imagined it, I think I read something somewhere suggesting it would ship ten days before that.
I’d probably be annoyed about it if the NPR stream wasn’t there, but I’ll be patient and just hope the T-shirt fits me. My seven year old son saw the picture on the web site and declared it ‘rubbish’, but then I don’t take my fashion tips from a 4ft tall gentleman in Lego Star Wars pyjamas.

I ordered from FrockSteady to the UK, again by Deutschepost. Nothing yet.
Was it supposed to include a download? Or are only certain suppliers doing that? At least there’s the streamable version to keep us busy in the meantime, as mentioned on another thread: http://www.npr.org/2012/09/09/160628084/first-listen-dinosaur-jr-i-bet-on-sky
Awesome! Did they play any tracks from the new album?
I’ve ordered from Frock Steady. I found a problem (regardless of which browser I used) where there appears to be no button to click to advance from the Shipping Address step. If that happens, put the cursor in the Fax text box and press tab a few times (3 or 4) until it focusses on a small area (perhaps 1×1 pixel) just below the ‘back’ link and then press enter. It’s as if it’s not loading the image for the ‘Continue’ button. I didn’t go as far as digging through the HTML to work it out. It might just be me… Anyway, for what equates to £29.19 at the current exchange rate (according to PayPal) I got the cheapest bundle (CD, shirt, badges, sticker) shipped to the UK.
You’re probably right, Jeremiah. I mis-read it; I didn’t realise that post was a year old. It looks like the cost of the cheapest package shipped to the UK would be roughly the same from there as transmissionmerch.
Anyone know what the T-shirt sizing is likely to be like? Do you think the T-shirts are sourced from the same supplier regardless of who you get the bundle from? I typically go for an ‘L’ and that’s typically alright. I have a large collection of Dino shirts in XL which are pretty baggy on me now; I was quite a bit chunkier back in the day 🙂
Thanks ames. That link works. Actually, the link via dinosaurjr.com seems to take me there now. Perhaps the issue was that I was doing it from work and God knows where our Internet connection is routed from there.
Talking of FrockSteady, has anyone been successful in getting a 20% discount code? You can apparently get one if you ‘like’ them on Facebook; Tried that, but can’t see a code. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Frocksteadycom/163364297018997
Anyone in the UK ordered a T-shirt bundle? If I follow the link from dinosaurjr.com, it takes me to FrockSteady and there’s no sign of the bundles there (just various other T-shirts). If I go direct to the transmissionmerch link that Jeremiah provided, I can see that the Stick A Toe (smallest) bundle is $15 shipping, so $44.99 total (about £28). Anyone else in the UK ordered from either of those sites?
I’ve been playing this over and over, particularly the extended instrumental part starting around 2:00. Once again, J throws down a simple chord progression and I immediately love it. A few bars in and I’m nodding along with a smile, thinking “Yeah. He’s still doing it”. Such is the genius of J; Years and years of chord progressions that aren’t necessarily anything technically spectacular, out of the ordinary, or even that different to earlier songs, but somehow I just keep loving it and probably always will. I’m excited about this album already.
