…and I really enjoyed Dead Confederate. The best support I’ve seen for a while.
My deluxe edition arrived today – air mail delivery to the UK from Jagjaguwar advance order. The signed poster is great and will be framed and put on the wall. It was £13 including delivery.

I’ve preordered the deluxe 2xCD version for delivery to the UK from Jagjaguwar. Total of $20.45.

It’s up now:

Skip to around 1:06:50. The interview finishes around 1:18, followed by a play of Freak Scene.
It’s worth checking out. Includes a play of Over It (which J says he saw as a ‘throw away’ until other people told him it was good and should be a single).
J’s favourite dinosaur is a T-Rex. He likes the teeth.

Looks like Amazon UK is now listing the 2-disc version:

But… "Currently unavailable.
We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock."If they actually get it, then this may be a cheaper and/or quicker option for us in the UK compared to CD Universe.

All sounds pretty good to me. Can’t wait.
This link will give the tracks in the order they’re on the album:
Simon.
Amazon.com has it for $14.98, so more than CD Universe, but Amazon UK doesn’t.
I’m in the UK. I’d be interested to hear from anyone that has discovered a UK seller for the 2-disc (‘deluxe’) edition, avoiding the need for international shipping.
From CD Universe to the UK, it’s $11.98 + $8.49 shipping = $20.47, so about £13.50. Not too bad, but the non-deluxe is only £7.98 delivered from Amazon UK.

Thanks for the link to the 192kbps MP3s. Having listened to both for most of the day, I’m immediately liking Over It, but can’t get very excited about the other one. Overall though, I think the Pitchfork I Don’t Wanna Go There is my favorite Farm-related track. That said, I’ve heard that at least 100 times, so perhaps the others will grow. It’ll be interesting to hear what Imagination Blind is like when electrified.

Thanks Annastefka. You gave me my first out-loud laugh of the morning and I’ve had numerous recurrences throughout the day each time I think of: "Do you think Papaw even knew we were there?" … "Honey, we just don’t know". The elderly relative comparison is spot on.
Still, despite the similarities you’ve noted, I bet your grandfather wasn’t as handy with a Jazzmaster as our mutual friend.

These rare glimpses into the inner workings of the band are so few and far between, I really value them. In some ways I’d like J to say more, but he’s not gonna change. I actually like the element of mystery.
December 8, 2008 at 5:22 am in reply to: J + Friends Sing and Chant for Amma digital release and show #133578Are any of you planning to go to this show? I wish I could, but it’s just impossible. It would be great to hear (or better still, see) a recording of it. I’d be especially keen to see what the other vocalist looks like, as when I listen to the record, I always imagine it’s the character Sayid from Lost (Naveen Andrews)

Simon.
Oooooh. Seems this Dave Simpson twat isn’t a fan:

Dunno about Leeds, but I thought the Reading set was excellent. You’re never going to get the same atmosphere at a festival performance that you’d get at a dedicated gig, given that >50% of the crowd are probably just filling time until the next band they planned to see comes on. I’m just pleased they’re getting booked each year as it’s the only performance that stands any chance of appearing on UK broadcast TV.
If you flick to the Sunday page, it suggests that the set may also be viewable online.
…paying particular attention to Spectacular and Freakin’ Out.
