I see them playing a new set list that will be the best yet. This band’s setlist potential is off the charts and for that matter, the same can be said about the word of mouth potential for them gaining new fans. I hear the polished product they’re up against and they have influenced so many people. This new album will be a huge boost in all of their careers. I see them playing eventually 4 or so cuts from the new album in concert by next year. I also see them adding more Green Mind, Where Ya Been, and some songs from side 2 of Bug. This would be the logical scenario esp. with the re-releases after the 1st three, eg: Green Mind, etc. I think there’s a good chance they play a little longer sets because of the song expansion. They always have their fans wanting special treats live and that’s why this reunion’s vision was so well thought out.
I hope their live set is expanded to 105 Minutes or so. A set like this would be cool:
Pond Song
They Always Come
Blowin It/I live for that Look
Sludge
Don’t
Water
Feel the Pain
Freak Scene
Lose
New Song
New Song
Furry Things
Kracked
No Bones
New Song
New Song
Encore:
Thumb
Start Choppin
Let it Ride"maxini " wrote:How’d You Pin That One On Me
Pretty please? How’d You Pin That one On Me would be a great choice!
Blowin It/I live For that Look, Feel The Pain, Water would be three nice numbers to add to the list.
I think Murph uses Gretsch drums and his cymbals I think are Paiste. He plays a 4 piece typically with a crash ride, crash cymbal, and a high hat. I know in the past he played a double bass pedal and the first time I saw him in 1989 he had a yellow drum set with 2 bass drums, in 1991 he was playing a red Gretsch Blackhawk set with a double bass pedal he used a few times in several songs both new and old for the Green Mind tour. On the Green Mind tour when I saw him, they had Murph in the front and center of the stage at the Cotton Club, a small club in Atlanta. Murph gets great sound on his kits and he plays very solid.
Let it Ride!
Just the album Bug alone makes that era with Lou truly classic!
Thanks, I’ve looked at the concert chronology site and it’s not listed. I know that J,L,Murph was recorded Feb. 18th in NYC and then the next show listed is Richmond, VA. If I ever find a recorded copy of this show it will be amazing! I’m thinking it’s probably Feb. 19th or 20th of 1989. At this show they were filming too. There was a guy up on a stand in the middle of the crowd with a camara. It was the old 9:30 club so it was a pretty small venue and super loud!
These guys have no respect at all. I thought they were being dicks to Murph. He handled it well since he’s cool.
Maybe they play a new song. It would be the appropriate time to promote a single even if the record isn’t done yet.
Whadya want!
The reissues lead me to believe that they are planning to play these songs live with Lou eventually. It markets some more material for the tour after their current tour. Lou might actually be learning some of these on the tour bus of the present tour. Instead of the same set list; there would be songs from 6 albums: the first 3, the new upcoming record, and the 2 Rhino Reissues. This might mean longer shows, hopefully.

I’d just rather these three guys keep a unique sound. I don’t expect it to sound like the 80s stuff but I hope it does sound unique.I hope its a cross between YLAOM and Bug. It would be great for an album that sounded like that to come out now. Amazing how those older albums have stood the test of time and still sound relevant today.
Don’t count on it. I wish the same thing but I don’t see them playing that fast anymore. I would like it to sound like Bug and also sound like new stuff too.
A dream set list:

The Post
Lose
No Bones
Forget the Swan
Don’t
Bulbs of Passion
Keep the Glove
Let it Ride
Tarpit
Pond Song
They Always Come
Cats in a Bowl
Yeah We Know
