      Great review and comments.

Concert was superb (save for minor comment at the end of this post) – highlight was Thumb (Suzanne’s flute and all) and the elongated Alone (favourite song just got better !). I dragged a colleague from work with me, saying it was an "acoustic solo" gig by a bona fide guitar God. J’s fan club now has one new member, although even I was taken aback by the thrash guitar and flute combo – FANTASTIC.

The Wounded knees were also a revelation – highly recommend seeing them live to anyone. Expect to hear more about Jimi & Suzanne as they were the best supporting act at a J gig I’ve been to.

Bush Hall was a good venue (Sold Out – 400 people), comfortable, but very, very humid (yes I know it helps bar sales any conspiracy theorists out there). Not sure what it was like when REM played, but would have been good if you like saunas :-)

During the concert I pondered as to what it must feel like to play virtually the same set day in day out on tour. With the back catalogue available I would have liked J to stretch himself a bit more, as his acoustic concerts haven’t moved on since the "green shirt" Camden gig. Ultimately who the hell am I to criticise as the songs sound so good. However, knock me down, but would anyone else like to hear a few different numbers played ?

Rambleon – why ? Do I owe you money !!

No – not guilty. I was there, but standing in the front row.

rambleon – I would love to go, but I’ve got a Family dinner thing I’m supposed to be attending. As i was the last one to find out about it, I had already ordered my ticket for the Mean Fiddler – double bummer.

I’m relying on these boards for full reviews of the shows !

Unfortunately I will be unable to attend the show at Dingwalls on Thursday 21st (hospital appointment), so that means my ticket is now looking for a new home.

Ill sell it for Face value (£12.50). Just be glad that someone will have the opportunity to attend in my place as I believe it’s already sold out.

If your interested just send me a private message.

No merchandise for sale at all at the gig Im afraid – bit of a missed opportunity I think.

Found this link to the drownedinsound.com review of the Metro gig. Short but amusing and complimentary !

Stag do and cameras……lethal combination. Probably best you dont take the film to Boots or Tescos to be developed. Could be copper waiting for you at the till when you go to collect !

Breezy. U must post the picture…would be great to see if J looked bemused or not by your (not at all deranged) presence !!!

I think your spot on.. J probably doesn’t get the popularity/legend/importance thing. He sees people in awe of him with open mouths staring, so he does the same thing back…it may be an in-joke from J that we didnt get ….until now !!. Kracked it !

Also, who else would have setup their gear on stage from a rucksack (which also contained his clothes)..no-one.. ? weird, but somehow utterly brilliant.

Mikeey & Breezy – thank goodness, I thought i was the only one who frightened J (asked for his autograph). The great man looked a bit puzzled. And that was before he’d even started to leave the stage area and walk through the adoring crowd.

Finally, I’ll never forget the main man and his rucksack ! <img>

Allison – good to be back, dodgy ears and all !! yeah it was another great show last night.

Cant help wondering what the purpose was by coming all this way to play one show at a small venue in London, before presumably heading straight back to the USA.

Wouldn’t of thought it would be just for promo purposes (despite being sold out it was such a small venue so not that many people would have been able to get in) and anyway there were only 3 new songs played.

Anyone have any ideas or thoughts on this ?

DB – yeah it was a great night …ears still ringing this morning and woke up a bit dazed. Always a good sign!

J giving autographs ????? Some mistake surely. When I’ve seen J he normally leaves the stage whilst playing the last few bars. You hear him, but don’t see him !

On the other hand, Mike Watt packs up his own gear and will talk to anyone. Even me. After reading the Minutemen section of Michael Azzerads great book, it seems he has always done this. Would be a bit weird to see J do the same thing.
Glad to hear J’s back on tour again so soon after the accident.

Hearing ‘Severed Lips’ as an encore – now that’s the ultimate for me.
