Anyone aware of Watt returning to the UK again ?
Yeah – no harm done Nick, was well worth it ! My wife has caused me more damage in the past (another story).
As for the £235 on my cc – I’m not sure which part of Brighton she brought for that. Probably all of it.
Heard "TV Eye" the other day – I had more visions of George playing the last half standing up givin it everything ! COOL !!!!!!!

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Not a good topic for me based on my earlier ramblings……..
I did however get 3 souvenirs from London and Brighton – namely a gashed calf muscle, bruised skull and a dead leg.
Not quite the same admittedly ………

Pat,
Couldn’t agree more – Any chance there is (when fully recuperated) everyone should go see Watt in concert. Get in the front row – he’ll probably chat to you throughout the show ! If you want to see a showman…
Oh and he writes a mean diary.
Allison,
After the Brighton gig, someone asked about that sticker as a souvenir, but were told no because "It belonged to George". So it seems your not the only person to think it’s cool.
Jeremiah – please keep us updated.
Thoughts go out to J and all involved for a quick recovery.

AGAP – Time will tell how good the deal was….CC Bill will arrive soon !
Anyway, I think your spot on with the Ron Asheton appearances comment. J seemed to wake up completely when Ron was introduced.
Ron was awesome and as Kockney said, he barely broke sweat. J, Mike & Ron all played together for "Alone". It sounded very similiar to the Bizarre Fest 97, but enhanced by the third guitar. "Alone", was not necessarily familiar terrotory for Ron, but you would have thought he’d played it a thousand times before.
The 19th can’t arrive soon enough…..
Mission Accomplished. (Amazing what a visa card and some shops can do !) So, alone I went last night. I’ve started another topic, so we’ll see if any other Freaks went last night….
Please, I need some help with this one………
My Wife has just asked me why am I going to see JM&TF again, having seen them last night. Apparently it’s "raining a bit" and wouldn’t I rather stay at home for a night in. It appears I am not now going alone…..
As her musical tastes only go as far as Boney M and Sister Sledge, I may be in a spot of bother.
HELP !!!!
Yeah – I feel priveliged to have able to see them play. One advantage in England being a geographically small place. As I said, hopefully the video footage will surface somewhere soon. Gillespie – it was childish aggression, but of the "heavy lump of metal flailling around peoples heads" variety.
guapo – The medley they played is the John Peel Session (download from the MP3 section of this BB I think). Teenage Fanclub, "Everything Flows", "Range Life" and finally Ruts "In A Rut". Awesome studio session, even better in the flesh. One of the highlights of the night.
Ah…It was Bobbie Gillespie from Primal scream.
I guess he’s only ever played at concerts where everyone sits in chairs clapping rhythmically.
Not totally smashed in, but someone will have a sore head in the morning.
I was in the front row, leaning on the barrier directly in front of Watt. I didn’t see anyone spitting at the stage, but the cigarette that landed near Gillespie was thrown by someone right behind me. Once Gillespie started spitting into the crowd (twice), I was pinned against the barrier as a surge started. The stand went into the crowd twice followed by the busted mic. It was all over as soon as Gillespie left the stage. As I’ve posted elsewhere, he was initially pissed because Mike Watt’s mic stand was too high for him and he couldn’t uncouple the mic itself, which left him looking like a bit of a prat.
I thought that J, Mike, George & Ron handled the situation brilliantly.
I also thought it was a great concert and have to agree with guapo, not enough Dino songs, but with J, Watt, Ron & George in full flow even playing Stooges it was BRILLIANT.
Someone was recording the show on a camera in the first floor seats and another person was between the barrier and the stage with a camcorder. Hopefully some of this footage will come to life so everyone can see it – just like the superb Camden Acoustic show J did last year.
