hey question cause i never owned a jag or jazzmaster:
when you whammy like crazy do they go crazy out of tune? J whammys like nuts and never seems to go out of tune. curious.
yes, and J probably does. he retunes a couple times in the DVD, if i remember right.
well, you’ll go a bit sharp or flat if you really wank it, but unless you break something you won’t go miles off. from my experience anyway.
ffs, don’t. my jaguar arm falls out all the time, and it used to screw in. a mate tells me im probably just doing it wrong. when i first took it out the shop the guy unscrewed it, so i don’t think it’s broken. i don’t use tremolo arms anyway, so i’m ok.
take it to a shop and ask a guy how to do i before you decide whether or not its fucked, but jesus christ, don’t send it back!
right, cool.
J Mascis Jazzmaster* From Dinosaur Jr. to the Fog, J Mascis and his energetic lead guitar style took the Jazzmaster to a new place and introduced the guitar to a new generation. In addition to its stunning looks, this guitar has many player-centric modifications as requested by Mascis himself.
U.S. MSRP $1,199.99i take it this means there’ll be a Japanese and an American model, or did they just get the price wrong?
Jeez. J + Orange Amp = Ear damage

lmfao!
"Lcm1992trv " wrote:What’s that silver knob on the bottom of the body, down in the front?i think what you mean is the trem arm lock, which, as the name suggests, locks the trem in place when you slide it along, to stop it falling out.
"Lcm1992trv " wrote:Smart move for Fender. It’s position just makes me think it would interfere or touch the E and B strings, but I guess they got their designers on that one and figured out how to not.the trem arm never interferes with my Jag strings, and i’ve never heard that happening to anyone else. although when i first saw the jaguar before i bought it that idea came to mind too. but no, it works really well.
"little fury thing " wrote:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=H4_L97sJBfsThat one. There may be a blue one though.
very nice, not seen that before. i’m convinced J has a blue tele/esquire, its just finding the pictures thats the bitch now.
-edit-
gotcha, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=y20BAG6uYko”>http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=y20BAG6uYko from about 1:05. esquire after all. goes to show, J obviously has a thing for sparkly finishes.
actually likewise, it’s the blue one isnt it? very funky.
god man, tell me about it. The Fall, Sonic Youth, Dino, Yo La Tengo… there’s no end to the bands i love that i’ve not been able to see cos of the age thing, and it’s a bitch.
King Tub’s plan sounds like it would work. you could go earlier, but it just depends how long you’re willing to spend in the bathroom stall i guess
you can use similar tactics to get free train rides as well, just fyi
can’t say i’ve ever met dino, sadly.
or anyone from a big band really. i was sitting behind Stuart braithwaite (mogwai) at a Terry Riley gig (afterwards me, my dad and our mate walked past him and the bassist from mogwai, i think, and he was rambling about how awesome the time signatures were or something, so my dad goes and yells "WEEGIES WI GUITARS! MINT!" don’t ask why), walked past Patti Smith in Newcastle, saw Tony Allen after a Good The Bad & The Queen gig… never once talked to anyone.
even if it was "gay" why the fuck would anyone who isn’t a total bigot care? if it handles and sounds good, and the player at the neck is good, why should it matter? geez.
no, cashing in on Dino fans would be selling the signature model for thousands, like David Gilmour’s doing with his.
Japanese Fenders are good. not as good as Americans of course, but miles better than the Mex models. comparing them to Squiers is totally unfair. and with a bit of setting up pretty much any Japanese can measure up to an American fairly well, probably for less of the price. My Jaguar’s japanese, and not a hundred miles off an American model.
i’m glad J’s doing a signature model. an artist series model that isn’t a Strat or Tele is just the kind of thing Fender, and the jazzmaster, need. and he’s keeping it real by not charging us a packet for buying it, probably because he himself knows that if you’re an aspiring guitarist, presumably the kind he wants to appeal to as well as collectors and the like, you won’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it.
"mind_glow " wrote:So, where’s the lefty one… Everybody treats us like outsiders.
We always have to pay much more for everything. If it even exist…
And I’m not a left hander.
I just play that way. It’s not my fault.restring it backwards, get a tech to insert a new strap lock? it worked for hendrix.
cheers.
FUCK OFF

im getting tickets like.
