      Thanks!

I’m guessing it was either the night before or the night after!! (Unless I’m hugely mistaken and have got these gigs mixed up).

Kurt joined him for Drawerings they really rocked out – Kurt even fell over at one point!!

      Anyone else remember this show?

They did play "Don’t" at the Summer shows. At least at the show at Koko in London – the last date of the summer shows.

Free so Free is fantastic. One of J’s better albums. I can’t believe so many of you don’t like it. Each to their own I suppose.

If only I even had the option of seeing J live again at the moment…..

I had a poster of this pic from an edition of the UK mag Select around the time of Greenmind (if that helps). Never seen the T-Shirt before though. I’d guess it isn’t an official shirt as I’ve never seen one with J’s mug on before!! Doesn’t seem the kind of guy to want to have his face on T-Shirts.

I have two 90’s Japanese Jazzmasters and they are both really lovely to play.

I have a 94 which has a really nice chunky neck and a 98 which has a much thinner neck. Both sound really nice, very comparable to all the USA Fender’s I’ve played.

J will make money on this record because of the publishing royalties. Even if the songs were performed by someone else he would still make money because he wrote the songs.

In the same way, Teenage Fanclub will also make money off this record because of Everything Flows being on there.

                        Hope that helps!!

                          1. Where You Been – the best album ever
                          2. Free so Free – Had it on constantly for the last week. Maybe I’m getting ahead myself putting this one so high up so early but I can’t stop listening to it in the way I did with Where You Been
                          3. Hand It Over – Damn fine songs.
                          4. Greenmind – Very different to all J’s other records. This one seems very drum lead to me. The songs are some of his best and with a bit more guitar the album would have been higher.
                          5. Bug – Oooooh the guitar!
                          6. You’re Living all Over Me – Pure genius, although I’ve put it down the list as I think you have to be in a certain mood to listen to it. At least I do.
                          7. More Light – Not his best work but still better than most other bands albums.
                          8. Without a Sound – Too many average songs on this one for me. Not his best.
                          9. Dinosaur – Sounds like a band trying to figure out what they want to sound like – which I guess is what it is! Still fucking great though!!

                          Have I missed any……

You can usually pick up ex-rental copies of Things Behind the Sun on Amazon for not much money. Definitely worth it. It’s a good film and it’s cool to see the version of Everybody Lets Me Down with J on drums, the McDonald brothers of Red Kross on guitar and bass and Kristen Vigard (of Grace of My Heart and Red Hot Chili Peppers fame) singing. Quite a cool little supergroup if you ask me!!
