I was waiting to get tickets at 9am on friday but the websites were down and by the time they sorted themselves out all the tickets were gone. So I was very stressed but luckily i managed to get 4 tickets for the other manchester show and 2 for the sunday one in london. I think they will have to add even more shows because it’s ridiculous how quickly these sold out.

Yeh it’s gonna be another 5 hour coach journey for me but these kind of shows are always worth it.

Bubble and Scrape was my favorite ages but since I bought The Freed Weed re-issue I can’t stop listening to that. I think they’re all great up to Bakesale anyway.

Theres some very nice gear in this thread. I’ve got alot of guitars but not alot of pedals. I just use the effects on the cyber twin but now i’ve got a job i’ll be buying lots of pedals ;D The only one i have is a Boss VB-2 Vibrato, it’s really cool though.

Guitars: Washburn acoustic, Gibson SG Special 88, Fender Strat MIJ, Ibanez RG Series, Fender Jagstang, ’65 Jazzmaster and a crappy bass

I haven’t listened to this band yet but they’re playing in Leeds next month I think so I’ll check them out. Can you recommend anything to start with?

Dude you could have saved yourself an hour if you just looked at the tab i did already. I’m not saying mine is 100% correct but tabs rarely are. Ours looks pretty similar so remember to check them out to save you abit of time :)

btw i have a few new corrections to add to some tabs, the intro to kracked in particular. I watched a video of j playing it and it’s completely different so i will post the way he plays it as soon as i get the chance

I was lucky enough to make it to Primavera Festival to catch the first preformance and it was so much better than i expected. They really pulled it off! Can’t wait to see it again in London

Cool … Is that the one at the Roundhouse or is that happening at more places than just London?

I think they’re actually doing a daydream nation tour

From the experience I’ve had buying guitars it’s always best to save up and get a really good guitar. I’ve had alot of guitars ranging from cheap gibson copys and squiers to usa gibsons and now vintage guitars. Ebay is the only way to get real value for money in my opinion; you can get US made fenders and gibsons cheaper than the jap model price in guitar shops. I got a US SG for £350 which is way cheaper than an epiphone copy in a guitar shop. What I really recommend though is getting hold of a vintage guitar. Not only are they superior in nearly everyway they are a great investment. They go up in price every year so it’s best to get one asap before the prices get silly. I had to save up for about a year to get my jazzmaster but it’s the best thing i’ve ever done.

In regard to the orginal question I would simply recommend a jazzmaster and not just because J uses them. They are easily the most diverse guitars I’ve ever played and i dont have a big muff or many pedals. They sound great for any style you wanna go for especially for playing chords, the only problem i get due to the low action is lack of sustain on bends. I read that this is just a problem with vintage JMs but i can’t be arsed making the action higher.

If you listen to this version of Quest on the World Cafe you can clearly hear the intro without any guitar so it’s easier to tab it out than the album version

Ok, this is the intro off the top of my head so it might not be perfect

I wish they would play Raisans at everyshow instead of Freak Scene, I never get tired of that song and I wish they’d play Yeah We Know alot more, they totally rock that song live. I’ve seen them 4 times and I still haven’t heard Tarpit yet :-
