Serviceable, not sure? Have you ever listened to any Dino or Fog records its either J himself or he taught someone else to play it and the drums rock.
The show was cool. The boat was pretty packed. The guys from Tee Pee records were there. The first band was kind of Danzing like. Then Witch played. J’s drums were awesome. They were the clear pink ones but he had Witch painted on the front and a light inside making it glow neon. They were pretty good. Definately saw the sabbath influence. But they cut the set short. The last band was more ruckus and one guy was pretty good on the guitar. J said it was Kurt, I don’t know if it was Kurt Fedora. All in all it was a lot of fun.
I think he told me he was just borrowing the amp from the guy he sold it to years ago. So he probably returned that. And if they aren’t playing shows like last nights benefit or the spin party than when would you expect them to resurface.
Its crazy I invited this girl to go to the Katrina benefit and she couldn’t make it because she said she was going to see a show at Webster Hall. I said if it doesn’t work out you could still try and come and catch J. So I went by myself and J played second. He played Thumb and than Get Me and Alone with the looper and the solos. So I stuck around there and watched vernon reid play some voodoo child. Than I went downtown and met my friend and all of a sudden I got a text message that said J is playing here now. I was shocked. I called her and she let me listen over the phone to alone. It was just crazy. Thing is I would have liked to see this girl more than J but like someone says "I don’t see you , I won’t call you , I don’t know enough to stall you…
I think its going to take a while to edit everything. Also I think there may be 2 DVD’s. One is the official Dino one and one is a documentary on J.
The guy was Barbara Streisand’s manager. Oh and they make like 2 million a year on the t shirts. If they wanted to make money why didn’t they make cds with all the artists. I say let the place go. The only time any good bands have played their in the last 10-15 years was the anniversery and the concerts to save it. I am just hoping they play through September so I can see J.
