There is that song Go to Church, and what about riptide swim sideways or is that the fast punky song? If anyone ever recorded the Columbia University show in 97 he played thumb and sludgefeast with no pa. There is the song carl if you want to hear him just play drums. I can’t think of any other instrumentals, maybe on the rake album but I can’t rember.
If you watch freakscene from the 1991 year that punk broke or from another video you can see it is the d chord with the pinky on the fifth fret like you discovered, then e minor then the a is played down at the fifth fret with the first finger on the second 3 fret on the b string the second finger on the fourth fret on the g sting and the 3rd finger on the fifth fret on the d string I believe. Itslike an f chord slid down to the fifth fret to make it an a. Then the next part I think he does eminor and a like e minor with only 2 fingerson the second fret I hope this makes any sense. Now all you need is a big muff and electric misstress.
somebody asked for the milk song, I found it email- me and I can send you an mp3 or a copy.
They finally released the Knife Song by Milk. Igot it last summer, pretty cool. Alien workshop is where it is at though
Shannon Curfman is a pretty good blues player, and cute too.
There are a few songs I skip. I get sick of repulsion, not the same, the little baby, sometimes more light, lose, does it float, cats in a bowl, I’m not fine, and someone said, are probably my last favorite. I am glad I heard them but could do without them. I like pretty much everything else though that J has done
Wow there are so many new videos with Dino songs I haven’t seen. I quit skating a few years ago I think EE3 was the last one I saw. Who are the skaters in Sight Unseen and One Step Beyond. Anyway you forgot the one with the most J. Alien workshop with the lung, budge, and little ethnic song. Also an old Santa Cruz video had Freak Scene. I think Dino has been in more skate videos than any other band. Maybe close to operation ivy or the decendents.
I loved someone said, wish he would play it live. I don’t like CV that much I wish he was playing with the beachwood sparks. And I wish he had played with george and Juliana Hatfield. Anyway I think it will be a while till a new album since Bob’s placed burned, probably another year. I have seen J like 14 times in various forms this year so I think its cool if he goes back into hiding and comes out later with some new songs. Does anyone have no way they could send me, I lost my Japanese copy of Free So Free.
Oh yeah and is that Charletsville show relatively new because I know I have downloaded the Philly and Hoboken but not sure about that show.
Anyway if anyone would like to check out a song I did, I would appreciate any feedback. I suck at drums and just made the singing up on the spot. It is a rough demo but your thoughts will help shape it. Anyway its called neverending.http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/memory_eraser/index-1.html”>http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/memo … dex-1.html
I think the clear ludwig set may have been ruined. Supposedly it was black sabbaths or something at one time. I know George uses a mod orange vistilite kit.
If you look at it through a light its really cool. You can see the pole thorogh J’s head and the the road looks really cool.
I have know idea what you are talking about by trash compacter but it is the electric misstress and a big muff.
Hey Monkeysnail. The most important thing is your guitar, than amp, than pedals. I bought so many pedals when I was your age it took me a long time to get a good amp. And all the pedals I bought have been reissued for half the price and better guality. When you do buy pedals start with a distortion and a wah. You can get a big muff clone for about 75 dollars much better than the reissues. Don’t skimp on a wah. The cheapiest I would get is a vox but I would really consider an RMC. As far as guitars made in Japan fenders are a great deal. You have to try them out as with everything, whatever feels and sounds right is it regardless of price. With amps a marshall combo would be cool if under 400 dollars otherwise I would get a vintage fender or like a blues deluxe. Again you have to try it out. Don’t get the most expensive gear because you may not stick with it and you may not be able to get much reselling stuff but don’t get crap you want something that will make you want to play. A versitile guitar, amp and then start on the pedals. Email me if you want to ask some specific questions and I could even help you find some stuff. I actually have a real nice guitar I may be selling. Oh by the way yeah the black reissues aren’t that great, the older green or grey ones are better. The new nyc reissue isn’t that great in my opinion. I would rather pay extra for the lamb’s head version which is the second model but like I said people make clones of these pedals. The boss pedal should be fine for now. Patience grasshoper (who am I kidding I have more pedals than anyone I know) you need to work on leardning to play. Always prctice and write on the accoustic. It makes your hands and ears work harder. The electric will feal like a toy after that. Add some distortion, a wah and maybe delay down the line and forget about it.
That is one ugly guitar and like I said I have a flower tele but the flower strat is too much, and a choral flange. I guess J is spending some of his insurance cash but the stuff he is buying, well it is his stuff, I just always admired his gear acquisitions until recently.
Cool got myself a hat. I had the one with the cow on the front but I lost it.
J uses vintage lamb’s head and triangle muff big muffs.
