Weird, I’ve always played with it at the 2nd fret.

So rather than having periodic rain, there was just this canopy that kept everything growing and whatnot. I’m not sure why they feel the need to explain that but I’ve heard this argument. I’m with you on this one though, pretty sure that’s just the sky we’re talking about here.
I didn’t know Built to Spill covered it. Is that on one of their albums?

Lou might actually be learning some of these on the tour bus of the present tour. Instead of the same set list; there would be songs from 6 albums: the first 3, the new upcoming record, and the 2 Rhino Reissues. This might mean longer shows, hopefully.now that would be nice, especially the longer show part!
I picked up Where You Been today and I’m through "Not The Same." I’ve got to say that while the sound quality is maybe a little better than the original, if you already have a good copy of Where You Been and aren’t dying for the B-sides, it’s probably not worth it. My copy was crappy anyway, so I needed a new one and I am enjoying the louder versions of the songs but I’m still in the "why did they remaster Where You Been" boat.
1. Like a Hurricane (I’ve said it on here before but I’d love to hear J cover this one, it’s tailored to his voice and guitar playing)
2. Cowgirl in the Sand
3. Down By the River
4. Everybody Knows This is NowhereYeah, I’m a little heavy on songs from EKTIN but it’s my favorite of the ones I own.
You have to keep in mind that the guys were really young when the made the first record and they’re all way better musicians now. I like the first album but agree that the songs are just better live. Especially Bulbs.
Got mine today, hopefully you all have the same luck!
I definitely like it better than Martin + Me, though there aren’t as many songs. I think this recording seems cleaner and J’s voice sounds really good. The between song banter is cool too.
There’s actually a couple of instances where I can understand lyrics I’ve never been able to before. Can’t remember which ones right now but it’s pretty cool.
Also, does anyone else wonder why they never made "Throw Down" longer? Such a great :45 song but it could have been a brilliant full-length pop song.
Can’t wait to pick this up.

The status says it shipped on the 15th via USPS.Come on, Monday!!!!
Same here. I need that CBGB CD!
Annastefka, what version is that from? It seems a bit modern but still makes the same points as other versions.
I don’t really have a "favorite" but I’d say the whole story of Christ being God in human form, being the perfect sacrifice and rising from the dead is pretty awesome. I get lost a little in the Old Testament but love pretty much everything in the New Testament. When I was a kid I really liked Sampson and Delilah.
I’m pretty disappointed with the "bonus" tracks, yes but have to agree that the first albums needed to be remastered in a bad way. To me, even if they left off the bonus tracks, it would have been worth doing. I’m a little skeptical about the new ones though. I have the bonus tracks in one form or another and Where You Been already sounds great to me. My copy is a little scratched, though, so I’ll pick up a new one. Green Mind always sounded a little tinny to me but that doesn’t necessarily justify a full re-release. I’ll get that one too but only because I’m a huge fan and my copy of green mind has the "Whatever’s Cool With Me" cover instead of the right one (I bought it used).

I’d start by asking the Flaming Lips to put out a better album in 2006.
