Excellent. I totally missed that when I was on Pitchfork yesterday.
Awesome. It’s such an added bonus to see Ranaldo backing for that song! I’d love to see that!

Was there ever a soundtrack released for this movie? I’ve never seen it anywhere but there are songs by J I don’t have.

That’s what I was going to try to talk to J about if I met him at one of the shows. I figured it’s something I enjoy, he seems to and it’s not talking to him about his career. I didn’t get to meet him though

I have a feeling it’s going to be LOUD.

I just saw a preview for this over the weekend and it looks awesome! I’ll see anything with Bill Murray but this kind of role is perfect for him.
I’m going to need a copy of this. I was at that show, it would be awesome to own it!
Yeah, I love the live version of What Else is New from that disc. Got to see him do it live once too, it was amazing.
"NCDan" wrote:That leads to threads like the one complaining that they only did songs from the first three albums. Only a fool would post something like that.I don’t think it’s a foolish question persay. Rather, one from a fan who doesn’t know the history of the band or whatever. That’s fine with me, I love songs from the later albums too but I’m perfectly happy just hearing stuff from the first three and totally understand why that’s all they’re going to play. Someone who says your ears shouldn’t hurt after a punk/rock show is insane. I don’t think (except when I’ve worn earplugs) I’ve ever left a rock show without ringing in my ears. That’s why I bring earplugs. Granted, Dino/J are the loudest but I expect loud from just about everyone.
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion about the shows and about the band. Still, I’m stunned that Dinosaur Jr fans have these kind of complaints about the show. Everything described, whether it’s the show being loud, J not saying much, whatever is exactly what I expect from this band. I’d never even seen them live before this tour and I knew how it was going to be. It sounds like Lou was just having fun at the show, not being a prick. Granted I wasn’t there but I doubt he was trying to upset anyone.
The complaint about J’s signature is the lamest thing I’ve ever heard. That’s his signature, that’s how he always signs his name. I’ve never seen it any other way.
I’m sorry not everyone has enjoyed the shows as much as I have but I’d be a little more understanding if the criticisms were legitimate and not complaining about the volume or how much J says between songs.
"HASHTHRASH v3.0" wrote:J is weird in person. I’ve met him and he’s awkward. He is a limp handshake kinda guy. Lou and Murph are really nice and outgoing though.I think the WCWM song request would have gotten no responce from J. He only played it a bit in 91 I think. I don’t think he has ever done it solo or in The Fog even. Seriously a bad ass tune, and one of my favorites. I’d like a few more songs from the first 3 albums though. Don’t, Let It Ride, Keep The Glove, They Always Come, Cats In A Bowl, Throw Down, Pointless, Budge, Lose, etc. I think they could have learned the rest and mixed up their set a bit more. I saw them 3 nights in a row, and the set was made of the same core 12 songs every night with 2 variations.
They played Budge in Boston and Covington so they are playing that one on tour. I realize they don’t play Let it Ride, Pond Song or They Always Come for some reason but what’s the deal with Keep the Glove? I love that song and figured they’d play it since it was one of the bonus tracks on the reissues.

Weird. In Covington the red shirt was the only one that was $25 and the others were $20.
July 25, 2005 at 12:02 pm in reply to: Please, Please Anyone going to a show get me a Red Cow shirt #111483They were out of ’em in Covington as well. I tried to get one but had to go with a purple cow instead of red.
I wish I could remember Covington, KY’s. Here’s what I know:
First song – Gargoyle
Second – Tarpit (I think)
Third – In a Jar (I think)The played a lot from YLAOM and only played Budge and Yeah We Know from Bug I think (other than Freakscene)
Forget the Swan and Repulsion were near the end
Kracked/Sludgefeast right before the encore
Encore1: Freakscene/Just Like Heaven
Encore2: Mountain Man/ChunksSorry I can’t remember more. I know all of the songs played but can’t remember the order. Here are the other one’s played: Lung, Little Fury, Bulbs, Raisans.
