Wow, that’s a crazy story! You should give them another try (maybe in the safety of your own home
). They have some good stuff and the reissues of Slanted and Enchanted and Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain are great!Don’t I wish. That would actually justify the purchase of a ringtone.
Are you sure the setlist isn’t backwards? Freakscene first and Gargoyle last? That’s completely opposite of most of the other setlists.
If that’s right I think it’s pretty awesome they opened with Freakscene!

Smallstone,
I was talking to my brother after the show in Boston on Friday and I’ve been pondering this a lot too. First off, I doubt they’ll record anything new. All of them have said they don’t really see it happening but seem to leave a very remote possibility. Hypothetically, if they did record, I’m not sure what I’d think about that. I don’t think they could possibly top the first three records based on what J and Lou’s solo stuff has been like over the past couple of years. Not that it hasn’t been great, it’s just not the same kind of great. I just don’t think, with where they are now, they would write music that is as revolutionary and inventive as what they did back then.
Having said that, I’d be curious to hear it and will always support whatever they put out. I’m sure I’d be at least as into it as I am J + The Fog if not more into it. I’m just not sure it could ever live up to the music these three put out originally.

I think there’s more than one color for the vinyl and I’m pretty one version is worth a pretty penny. I have the white one and can’t remember the color of the valuable one.
Did they make mention of it at the Toronto show? I noticed they have the night off today, wonder how he’ll celebrate…
I bought my first Dinosaur Jr CD because of their name. I’d never heard a song but thought the name was cool so I bought ‘Where You Been’ off of a friend. Obviously, I don’t think it’s a stupid name for a band and can’t imagine why anyone would.
Not sure your analysis of the band’s name is accurate but it’s an interesting idea anyway

Yeah, Jeff, I think you should have checked this board out before going. Dino is easily the loudest band I’ve ever seen and J’s shows are incredibly loud as well. It’s ALWAYS a good idea to wear earplugs. Not only does it save your ears but it allows you to enjoy the music more as well. You can actually hear better with them in.
Interesting to hear someone say they’ve been a dino fan for years but don’t enjoy guitar solos that are going to hurt the ears. I’m not sure I’ve heard of that before

I like that people are into it but I found it really hard to focus on the band during a couple of songs because I had to make sure I wasn’t going to get an elbow in the face or something. Very distracting but sort of cool at the same time.

I don’t suppose you can put those on FreeSoFree.net could you? I’d love to be able to download this show to hold on to since it was my first Dino show ever.
If not, that’s cool, I really appreciate you putting these up. What a great show!
I flew back from Boston last night and finally have a chance to post about the show. As my first Dinosaur Jr show, this was amazing! I was just in awe the whole time. I started out about 5 people from the front right in the middle but a mosh pit opend during Gargoyle (first song) and I got pushed much further back. Still, close to take it all in though.
The band played great, it was so cool to see all of them so into it. I didn’t really like the venue though. Did anyone else notice that they were planning on coming back out for one more but the Avalon turned on the house lights and started playing music, preventing them from coming back on for the final encore? I know it’s mainly a dance club but come on!
I also loved the number of younger people in attendence. I was blown away by it actually. Maybe it was just where I was standing but I’d say the average age was around 20-21. Good to see the youth respecting Dino!

Still, cool to see so much excitement outside of this community as well. Thanks for posting!
I’ve seen J+The Fog twice. The first time I did not wear ear plugs and totally regretted it. I was warned but did not listen. I’ll wear them at these shows but I’ll probably loosen them up a bit from time to time
