I second that, glad to hear what a great time you had. I’m hoping to duplicate your experience in Boston on Friday. If I can somehow get a picture with J, Lou and Murph I’ll probably freak out.

          1. Okkervil River – Blacksheep Boy
          2. Spoon – Gimme Fiction
          3. Ryan Adams – Cold Roses
          4. The Decemberists – Picardesque (SP?)
          5. Bright Eyes – I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning
          6. White Stripes – Get Behind Me Satan

          Others in no particular order:
          Teenage Fanclub – Man-Made
Stars – Set Yourself On Fire
          Beck – Guero

And of course the Dinosaur Jr. reissues are top of the list but they’re not technically new so I haven’t included them.

My buddy had this magazine and I was trying to figure out a way to post the interview. They didn’t have it on the website for a while. Thanks for finally getting it posted!

So aside from promoting the re-release of their first three albums, why is Dinosaur Jr. back? Perhaps it has something to do with their frustration over the current state of music. "It seems like mediocrity is OK now. I just wish people would be better, or if they weren’t better, that they wouldn’t play," says Mascis.

God, I wish the White Stripes and the thousand other rubbish "indie" bands farting out anemic gobbledegook and getting critically praised for it would take heed of the wisdom of J.

The umlaut in Motorhead is in the wrong place.

I like the White Stipes ok. It’s bands like Nickleback that need to listen up in my opnion.

Thanks, I was getting pretty nervous. I emailed them and expect they’ll tell me the same thing they told you.

By the way, welcome to the site.

Cool story! I’m a sucker for collecting things and sentimental attachments so I think the fact that you bought this board is awesome. Welcome to Freak Scene, hopefully we’ll hear from you often.

I’m virtually on air waiting for next Friday night in Boston. I’m really nervous for some reason. Weird feeling. Anyway, I’m totally stoked!

                          Tonas,

First off, welcome to the site. On your question, I think a lot of us around here are keeping our fingers crossed about the possibility of them recording together again but I, for one, am not getting my hopes up. J’s said in several interviews that he doesn’t plan on recording with them but Lou and Murph have implied that "anything can happen" so it’s hard to tell. If you have time, there’s lots of good reading on the reunion around here.

I’ve read that J has some stuff he’s been working on so I’m guessing that’s going to be released as J + The Fog. It would be cool to have the original lineup recording again but I’m thinking the chances are pretty low.

I just know I have it on an import/bootleg disc I bought off of ebay. I can’t remember the name of it (maybe ‘Keep the Freak Scene’?) but do remember that "Get Me" is listed as "Gret Me" on the back and there’s a picture of a little girl in a dress on the cover.

I didn’t notice that. I don’t think my frame is going to fit into a kids size. Oh well.

I love the J/lou/murph shirt but wish it came in a color other than black. Not a fan of black t-shirts. I’ll still buy that one and the cow one though. I also wish they had stickers instead of bottons. I need a dino sticker for my car.
