The recording of Crumble sounds surprisingly bad… The other three songs sound great, though so I’ll take it!

recently, I started digging over your shoulder… I’m finally getting to like without a sound (of course not love it passionately, but a warmer emotion than the cold-shouldered indifference I had for it before), and this tune is actually really pretty.
I actually think WAS is underrated as an album. I feel like dino fans don’t really like it because it was maybe their most mainstream but there are lots of good songs on there. For this discussion:
Over Your Shoulder
Even You
On The Brinkare all underrated in my opinion.
Talking about overrated dino songs seems kind of weird but I’ll play.
Feel The Pain has to be it. It was their biggest single and not even in their top 100 songs in my opinion.
Freak Scene may get played a lot but I’ll never get sick of it, all things considered it may be their best song (though, not my favorite).
Start Choppin’ – no way. It’s one of the most underrated singles of the 90’s.
I’ll throw in Almost Ready. I like it, get that it sort of sounds more like their old stuff than anything else on Beyond but just don’t think it’s that strong of a song. Everyone mentions this track when they talk about Beyond but it seems a little too basic and boring for me.
That’s probably the best and most revealing interview I’ve ever read with J. Excellent stuff.

Not everyone steals from musicians. If you need proof of how grossly innacurate this, look into Saul Williams release that Reznor produced. Less than 18 percent paid for the album when it cost 5 dollars, was produced by one of the biggest and most respected names in the music industry and targeted at a very loyal fan base also knowing the money would go right into the artist pocket. LESS THAN 18%. He still sold more records and made more money than he would have with a "tradional label" too.
So that would without question put you in a clear minority. Especially when you take away the variables mentioned about above and point someone to Target or Itunes to make their purchase. This is one example, I can repeat these results time and time again. There is an entire generation that thinks music is free because technology has made it so. Rather than getting pissy about a leak wrap your mind around where we are today. The best thing you can do to truly help your favorite band is NOT buying a CD but by generating a buzz (not with $$ marketing) and getting people out to shows and the main thing I (and most people) want in my arsenal to do this is music. Get people to shows, get the music out and stop worrying about us musicians when you buy our CDs it does very little for most of us. Again, welcome to where we are in the industry.
P.S One more point that dials in on how clueless you are No torrent has EVER been removed EVER from the Pirate Bay. So "reporting it to the label to have it shut down" is a process that does not work or really even exist. Look into it.
My take on illegal downloads is that I wouldn’t walk into Walmart and steal a CD off the shelf so why would I download the music for free illegally? It’s not about the bands making money or not it’s about the fact that you’re STEALING.
I realize everyone does it, it’s harder to get caught, etc. but to me there’s no difference. Don’t mean to sound like mom or dad here, it’s just the way I see the issue.

Same thing happened to me. I had it all ready to go and a call went long. I really hope someone nabbed it for us!
I don’t suppose there’s any way to post the article for your friends across the pond?
Ocean In The Way sounds like it’s going to be a favorite of mine.
This preview is too much of a tease, I just keep wanting the songs to go on just a little longer!

So now we have:
I Don’t Want To Go = Too Hard
I Want You To Know = Tell The TruthSo far I’m liking, not loving the new stuff. Generally, the first new songs I hear from these guys aren’t my favorites so I’m hoping the best is yet to come.
I take back what I said in the above post. I now LOVE I Want You To Know. Can’t stop listening to it.
Yeah, thanks for letting us know about the new track on Myspace!
Over It is my favorite so far I think. I’m really anxious to hear the long version of I Don’t Want To Go, though. The Pitchfork version was shorter than what’s supposed to be on the album…
Alright, I gave I Want You To Know two more listens and am liking it more and more. I think J was a little lazy with the lyrics but love the solo and overall feel of the song.
It also doesn’t sound as much like a Fog tune after a couple more listens. I agree with King Tubby that Beyond sounded more like a Fog record and am hoping this one ends up in more of a Dino direction. From what Lou has said in interviews, it should.

Hey, thanks for the link! I always kick myself for pre-ordering a copy and missing out on the CDs with all the extras.
Since you can vote for 10, I was tempted to vote for all! I went with They Always Come and What Else Is New, though.
awesome. I totally fell for it.
