Oh yeah. If I have to, I’ll pay a pretty penny for tickets. I’m guessing I won’t have to for the Covington, KY show but if I end up trying to go to the Boston show I may have problems.

Boy, the Late Late Show website is weak. I thought they might post some pics somewhere but no such luck. :(

            A few things …

            1) Sebadoh played Rebound & Shit Soup on Conan O’Brien way back in The Day.

            2) Just got back from LA. Watched the show Friday w/ Lou, Kath, J, Murph, a guy named Bart, a publicist & someone else. Hannelore was asleep on the couch. I sat right next to J. :)

            3) There were some nervous looks when CF introduced the reissues as the band’s "entire back catalog". Eep. Probably semantics, but it’s obviously not the Whole Truth.

            4) Lou is definitely "into" reunion.

            5) J was apparently very nervous during the taping. He fudged some of the song but in general they were happy with the performance.

            6) Highlight for Lou was playing with the old "Price Is Right" games on the floor below the studio.

You have some great "insider" info. Thanks for the notes. J seemed really nervous to me. Especially singing. I wonder if they chose The Lung so he wouldn’t have to sing much. Glad to hear Lou is into it.

I wasn’t real happy with that Scottish dork mentioned the band breaking up in 1989 and called the reissues their entire back catologue. LAME.

I was wondering that a little myself. I figured it was the lights because J would never color his hair but it sure did look blonde on the Late Late Show.

That was amazing. I’m still recovering today. Thank god, too becuase the show leading up to Dino was incredibly hard to endure. That show is not long for this world….

Anyway, my 2 cents on the performance. I thought it did sound like something may have been a little off but I thought it only made it cooler in a way. J’s guitar just couldn’t be as loud as usual so I think it made things sound a little thin at times. Still, I like hearing songs I love so much done a little differently so I was in to it.

Seeing J and Lou both so into it was awesome. I’ve only had the previledge of seeing J twice but I thought he seemed more energetic with Lou and Murph. Murph looked great, too. It was good to see him again.

this might be a stupid question, but … is this show live or is it taped beforehand?

I think taped beforehand. That’s how most, if not all, of those late night shows work. Can’t wait for 12:35am EST!

i am a little surprised they aren’t playing the amherst area though :!: :D

what’s the deal w/lollapalooza ? i thought that festival was gone forever after last year’s cancellation !

central park summerstage … how many people can see that sort of event ? is it usually taped or broadcast ? what’s the deal w/that as well …

I think Lollapalooza is a one-time show in Chicago’s Grant Park this year.

WOOOHOOOO! No Indianapolis but I didn’t expect that anyway. I wonder why no Chicago? Anyway, I’ll be at the MI, KY or OH show or all three. Sucks they’re all during the week. Oh well.

Any word on when these go on sale?

Thanks for posting that! I own a PRS and now I feel like getting rid of it!

Harsh words towards EC, I agree with him though. I can’t stand the acustic version of Layla.

OH YEAH! I have to add that solo to my list. What else is new is the first song I heard by Dinosaur Jr. that started my love for the band! I then had to go out and get all the old stuff with J, Lou, & Murph wich was even better than Where you Been. Definatley a great song. If Im not mistaken, dosent J do that song completley by himself? Anyway keep your fingers crossed for a US tour!!!!!!!!!! :D

What Else is New is my favorite song of all-time. When J plays this song live it’s amazing. The song is extended to about 10-12 minutes with incredible guitar solos mixed in.

sounds furious to me. not furry.

Yeah but the song starts, "the rabbit falls away from me…" Rabbits are furry little things.

Before recently, I never even thought about the spelling I just always thought it was "furry" but now I have no idea.

Ray, the confusion, I felt was because of the fact that there is usually a reason for putting things between "the lines". As far as the line up, The cat is out of the bag now but the cat looked as if was struggling for it’s life at one point, I think most of us could tell there was a cat in there but the condition of the cat upon release was up for speculation.

The cat maybe out of the bag but it’s still in the bowl…

Also, I thought Free So Free was a pretty big disapointment overall. I hope whatever comes out next is an improvement.

What album were you listening to? At least half of the album is awesome. And just Set Us Free is enough to make it great.

I thought More Light was great but I think I just got tired of the "free" theme throughout Free so Free overall. I really like "Otherside," "Everybody Lets Me Down," and "If That’s How It’s Going To Be." The rest of the album is great compared to 95% of music out there but not J’s best in my opinion. I still like the album, don’t get me wrong, I just don’t like it as well as other stuff he’s done.
