Little Fury Things has always been the opening track for You’re Living All Over Me. I’m pretty disappointed there’s not more to the discs as well but still glad to be hearing remastered versions of the songs. I’m not sure when videos were released, I’ve never been fortunate enough to see them. I’m looking forward to them being included with the reissues which I will be preordering today!
"hangover" wrote:Quote:Looks Like Mojo will have something about the reissues in their April 05 mag…Yeah, it’s worth checking out. There’s a full page review of the reissues (pretty predictable – Dinosaur gets 3/5 stars, YLAOM gets 5 while Bug only gets 4). Also a short interview with J about the original Dinosaur line-up (he talks about how it was "the most miserable time" in his life and is less than concilatory towards Lou: "[kicking Lou out] was resolved within a day, yet still somehow he used that for a lot of rage in his life, or to fuel his life in music. But I’ve heard from people he’s a lot more mellow now. He’s finally taking responsibility for his lashing out at me for 15 years.")
Boy, I hope releasing this quote from J doesn’t send Lou packing again. Them’s some rough words…
I’m confused. Merge said on the message board that Show Me the Way wasn’t going to be included because it was a bonus track on the original CD pressing of the album. That never made sense to me since they are including other bonus tracks but whatever. I guess we won’t know for sure until the CDs are actually released or maybe this is one of those "exclusive Best Buy promotions" and it’s giving out a CD single with the purchase of YLAOM.
I’m not going to get my hopes up for a new album. I didn’t get my hopes up about a reunion and that happened so I figure if I keep my expectations low, I might get what I want.
Excellent. I was one of the ‘guests’ who asked about that. Good to hear. I just hope it has something to do with Dinosaur Jr. and doesn’t just come with a Merge comp or something. Not that that would be awful but I’m holding out hope for something cooler.

maybe we can have a poll on what we want them to play…
Good idea. Definitely have to stick to the first three albums of material, though. No throwin’ in Green Mind or Where You Been songs.
Where You Been is my personal favorite. It’s my favorite album by an artist, ever. You’re Living All Over Me is a classic and, I would say, more influential than any of Dino’s other albums. It sounds more like Bug than any of the others you have but I find it’s a bit more experimental and unique. I think YLAOM is considered by most critics to be one of the quintisential albums of the late 80s/early 90s grunge/punk scene.

"rd" wrote:Do ya’ll think that they will play just songs from the first 3 records or do ya’ll think Lou and Murph will learn the DinoJr stuff that they never played before? I assume the sets consist mostly of stuff from the first 3 records but I wonder how much may come from Green Mind forward.I was wondering this as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if they threw in a few of J’s solo stuff and a few of Lou’s songs here and there but imagine they’ll mostly stick with material from the first three albums.
From the sounds of it, they’re going to do a few shows together. If that works out, they’ll probably do more. If not, at least they tried. I just want the chance to see them at least once.

Along with those midwest dates previously discussed.

I might be doing that even if they don’t hit the midwest. I’d probably travel anywhere in the country to see them live if they reunite.

That’s sure encouraging. I just hope they do it and throw in some US dates.
Welcome gargoyle. It’s always cool to hear from people that got into Dino during the SST years. I didn’t hear them until Where You Been so I’m a late-comer.
