Happy Birthday J Mascis…what a wonderful time of the year to be born…many folks are moving deeper into their advent adventure…opening their hearts to the real meaning of Christmas…the darkest days of the year are upon us….but we know soon, we will celebrate the arrival of…the sun (son)….giver of warmth and light! I had two babies in November…and I still remember the joy of holding those little bundles in my arms on Christmas Eve.
Many Mothers of Sag’s must have that same feeling…if these Mothers only knew…that so many of their little Sagittarius’ would grow up to be such energetic curmudgeons. I ran into a well known drummer here in Athens the other day…he is a Sagittarius…he joined me at my lunch table since….gemini’s and sag’s tend to enjoy their alone time but don’t seem to get enough of it…we were both eating alone and decided to eat together. OMG…after listening to him talk for 5 minutes…I said….Brother…you know I love you but dude.., your Native American Name would have been…"Energetic Curmudgeon" (you know those type of Native American names lilke..morning light/running dear/gentle rain. He did give me his end of the year… 10 most crappiest musicians to work with in Athens list…and the reasons why. At least we could find some humor in the bubbling over whelming, at the end of his rope frustration feeling his having.I found this on the internet and sent it to him…now I’m posting it here for J on his birthday!
A curmudgeon’s reputation for malevolence is undeserved. They’re neither warped nor evil at heart. They don’t hate mankind, just mankind’s absurdities. They’re just as sensitive and soft-hearted as the next guy, but they hide their vulnerability beneath a crust of misanthropy. They ease the pain by turning hurt into humor. . . . . . They attack maudlin-ism because it devalues genuine sentiment. . . . . . Nature, having failed to equip them with a serviceable denial mechanism, has endowed them with astute perception and sly wit.
Curmudgeons are mockers and debunker’s whose bitterness is a symptom rather than a disease. They can’t compromise their standards and can’t manage the suspension of disbelief necessary for feigned cheerfulness. Their awareness is a curse.
Perhaps curmudgeons have gotten a bad rap in the same way that the messenger is blamed for the message: They have the temerity to comment on the human condition without apology. They not only refuse to applaud mediocrity, they howl it down with morose glee. Their versions of the truth unsettle us, and we hold it against them, even though they soften it with humor.– JON WINOKUR
WORD…………..up………….MOFO….stopped to show this to a Sagittarius friend tonight…we are having the tears full of eyes…I mean.. you know….reverse-a-roni…cause I was jus saying today (cause birthdays coming up and all)..that none them Sagittarius bitches need a damn check in with anybody..word up…

sorry…had another moment…OMG…I really do wish I could just throw caution at the wind and communicate like that all the time. Sometimes…as you can see I do…but my kids will say…"MOM…STOP"
found this today…I somehow missed it a few months ago…..funny.
When I saw the title "Missing link" I thought it was going to include a photograph of George Berz.
Oh, ha,ha, it’s not there and I don’t have time this AM to go and find it….I’ll try later on in the evening, if I can grab the time needed and the teenager to help me!

I’m very happy because
Foona2’s wish has come true
for it sounds like j will do
just a simple albumMarch seems so far away
but I do hope that idea has J
to bring his pocket packed bearded ass back
to the Caledonia to play simple solo albumhis fans in Athens to make known care
could shower him
with cake and coffee.
and ask ri-donk-cue-less
questions like "Could I be in your band?"
(actual question that I’ve heard asked…more than once…)J Mascis…Can I be in your band?…I can play a fuckin’ mean rhythm egg..and I’m not kidding!
and contrary to the fact that I carry around an extra 35 lbs…I don’t eat much.
THAT IS THE TRUTH.
OMG..I think I just had a Tony Raines moment.yes, I did….have a wonderful week y’all!

Freakscene….how I miss you so much. I’ve been busy beyond what is probably healthy…the past few weeks sleeping only 4-5 hours per night just to keep up…I’ve had to hire one extra full timer to work with me and had to put all my fun projects on hold. (like writing and sewing) That said…I do come here once or twice per week, I just don’t have time to come here anymore and post my usual crop of crap.
A while back I came here to see this video and…the little play box with the arrow in the middle of the video…well the bottom of that little box was at the bottom of my computer screen..and it looked just like J was doing a little Levon Helm sort of thing, playing drums and singing…so my first thought was..I got to see this..and my second thought was perhaps Brazil, like Canada..said "No" to Murph and unable to find a drummer, J took over and…then my third thought was, I don’t think that would work out so well, I should just watch the video…I scrolled down and saw the image correctly…..all that happened in the course of two seconds or so but I was funny to me.
I just wanted to say….that video there (OMG…that video there is pure Mississippi, it’s my Father speaking through me) from Brazil shows the band to be smokin’ hot…I’m not kidding…that sounded so good….then again…when was the band in Brazil last? I imagine the crowd was super jacked up.
dammit…I’ve run out of time…the music sounds good…the beard is awesome…J should keep the beard. My husband shaved a few weeks ago and both of his daughters were like "Nooooooooooooo Daddy…why?" I think Daddy equals beard here in our house…although his Mama (my mother-in-law) said…"Now he doesn’t look like a hobo anymore"…I’m sort of down with the hobo thing. Got to run…peace and stars….

August 31, 2010 at 11:50 pm in reply to: All Tomorrows Parties with Flaming Lips/Dinosaur Jr/Deerhoof #137979Thanks for the heads up Jeremiah…Wow…I could never buy a ticket for that because I don’t know if I’ll even be alive then…and I sure wish the writer of that piece hadn’t used the word "seminal." I’m so tired of that word… but on an up note…he/she did use the word "stunning" to describe Dinosaur Jr. Now, I like that word. It’s a word that I think needs a comeback. I’m going to start to use that one tomorrow with my husband…as in "Dude..you’re stunning me"
Stun means to to daze or render unconscious right? Damn, that word is as fine as a Spanish Soccer player. Why haven’t I been using it more?
I can not wait until tomorrow because I know there will be at least a dozen chances for me to use that word with my fabulous Leo. Several times recently I have found myself "stunned" while talking with him on the phone. I think that is what you call "stunned speechless" ….L freakin O L…."Dude…you are so stunning (great for the Leo ego) ..you about to stun me into speechlessness where by hanging up the phone instead of saying something equally stunning back to you would probably be in the best interest of our marriage." CLICK…OMG Stunning.
Double rainbow all the way!Warning…a lot of girl porn coming your way this day……
Robert..I thinks you mights be wrong…the internet is a lot about porn….I found some "porn for girls" this weekend…and I can’t get enough.
Ronaldinho vs ronaldo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_9Tf279gEA f_9Tf279gEA
all I can say is ummmm Ronaldhino yum Ronaldo yumthen there is a Carles Puyol slice and it starts off with an interview and I become very intranced by watching him…sitting there in that…in that….in that..(see what happens)..blue seat….and tucking his shirt into his red pants…OMG. So cute to see Ronaldinho sitting next to Carles in the group photo and
yum…yum…yum…porn for girls I say.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWK4GCq9ZDo KWK4GCq9ZDo
for something funny….Carles Puyol fakes an injury from Ronaldo and Ronaldos not buying it…the announcer on tv calls it the "scene of the cry" instead of "crime" Even the ref is smiling…Hey don’t worry Carles…poo-poo Ronaldo knows..you can’t do that to people….you don’t slide tackle in soccer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdSaPuengsM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdSaPuen … re=relatedJ Mascis and Marshall Mcluhan in the same interview…I couldn’t believe it!
I must agree however…the interviewer is so strange, he brings up Mcluhan and says something about TV being interactive.
Interactive? WTF…you bring up Marshall Mcluhan you should at least finish the idea.Mckenna on Mcluhan…(about 4 minutes or so)

I just went to Loobiecore…and I wanted to add…I just love the way Lou writes in his own handwriting…that’s great and feels very real and he just pours it out. I have a new partner with my baking business and he is a Cancer and I’m learning to deal with water signs and find their worth. They are very good Fathers and Husbands…they keep things organized and tidy…they care about their families it’s so cute. They do stress out a lot and when they do (at least my new Cancer partner) they can get sort of quiet and then I take that personally…like I"m chatty and they seem like they would just rather not be chatty, then I’m worried that I’ve said or done something wrong…when really it’s just he has a lot on his mind that he is worried about so he doesn’t want to make small talk…perhaps men are like that in general.
that said….Lou mentions soothing his wife and knowing his wife is a Leo….I’ve got to say….we call that "stroking the kitty"….a good friend in San Francisco has a Leo business partner and he coined the term. I’ll call him and say "Hey, what’s up" and he will answer…"jeez, I had to spend freakin 1/2 the day stroking the kitty" since I have a Leo partner as well, I know exactly what that means.

I followed the link and was surprised to find this answer to someone asking for more Dinosaur Jr. shows:
you’re nuts..we just toured for nearly 2 years solid and played everywhere, didn’t we?..I would have to say and Foona would agree….no, I don’t think there have been any shows in South America. Perhaps….it’s the exchange rate but plenty of folks down there have money to spend.
so no, haven’t played everywhere. I have a few friends in South America who would love to see Dinosaur Jr. A couple of friends who have asked me about it from time to time are members of a great band from Argentina called the Number One Yonkee’s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdwePAlV_FY SdwePAlV_FY (take a listen)
Emma the singer and her husband (like my husband) were schooled in private English speaking schools so they have no accents which, I think, makes their music more marketable here….but as of now…I don’t have the time or energy to figure out how to bring them to the states.(to play music and get to hear Dinosaur JR.)..they need to make enough money to get home (ha ha).Oh, it’s okay guys… see that’s Chicago Fogs Gimmick….it’s an on going thing with us…he doesn’t make me too mad. Oh…I heard a preacher say something funny the other day. Marriage is an irrevocable contract you make with a seriously flawed person. I thought…."That’s exactly how I feel" and my husband said.."No, that’s exactly how I feel"..My kids got a kick out of our back and forth.
So I guess part of my gimmick is playing the part of a seriously flawed person.

but not Chicago Fog….he’s not flawed in any way…..
