yeah, A little like Gettin’ Rough, but as flying cloud said a little more true blue. Like get a young bluegrass group like the Duhks to cover say Green Mind. A banjo yes but got to have a smokin’ fiddle also. I don’t know if this link will work and this belongs in another topic really but http://www.duhks.com/index.html”>http://www.duhks.com/index.html the video stuff is crappy (soundwise) but if you get a chance check these guys ( very northern of me) out.
Wow, I just got back from LEAF http://www.theleaf.com and I feel great.
No, rambleon, no photos of me because I used up all of my film on you know who. More on that later. I love J’s music but I am a real nut when it comes to bluegrass, Gosh, I saw so many great musicians this weekend. One of my favorite albums is a bluegrass cover of Beatles songs. All weekend I was thinking "Gosh, I wish someone would do a bluegrass J/Dinosaur. A little guitar, a little banjo, hmmmm, but what song should be first.Sophie, I am so happy for you. Being married is GREAT ( the first 10 years that is, he, he) After that it’s like a business agreement.
Oh, anyone out there married to a Drummer, I heard a very stupid joke but if you have drummer friends it can be kind of funny.
How can a drummer feed a family of four?
The only way a drummer could feed a family of four is if you cooked him up and served him for dinner, but that would last only a few months>
It’s just a joke!!!!!!
I always like most of us try to be right up front when J comes out to set up, How many times have I seen him on the ground, holding his hair back with one hand, making adjustments and showing a lot of, well you know. A few years ago at the 40 watt he was just taking guitars out of cases and Yep, same thing and a lot of it!!! Last year with the Fog, he was being true to himself again and I caught the eyes of a few guys and I knew we were all thinking the same thing. "J’s butt, How cool is that?" Okay, I know it is a little cornball, but if you want an update, this is for the ladies because I don’t think the guys are that interested. I noticed that J is changing. At the Caledonia we saw his underwear instead of his you know, and at the show on the 28th, he had on a BELT, a rather cool one and yet still he was showing off about 4 inches of his underwear. He has cut about 4 inches off of his hair since January. I guess the bottom line is I like seeing J’s butt, I mean he is a working guy, right? Thanks rambleon for asking. I know a few of you out there needed NO explanation. Thanks, I loved taking the photos as well.
Helping children who have autism and their families even more, I would be into that.
I tried to quote Jayne and did something really wrong anyway
Jayne said:"I have no idea how Kyle kept up but he did exceptionally well."
and I just wanted to say Has anyone seen Kyle? He was dropping buckets of sweat all over his drums! After the show Dave asked us if we would like to go back and met J, We did but there was no sign of Kyle. We had a few fans over to spend the night and we were up talking about the show. We were all talking about Kyle keeping up, he did it but the joke was he might be laying on the ground behind that black curtain at the 40 Watt. As one fan said in a Southern way, "J worked that boy like a mule"
Oh, last but not least Ammaringnyc, I realise those DAT tapes were a little like a home movie because my husband is 6feet tall and I was talking right into the mic. If you post this recording somewhere or if anyone else does, could you please rid it of the before the show and between song banter. It is a little embarassing to be caught talking about a certain someones marijuana usage and to hear myself speaking fondly of J’s butt crack.
ThanksAmmaringnyc, you should have the files now, let us know if there is a problem.
Ammaringnyc, my husband wanted to find some space for them, if you have the space great. As you can tell the recording is not that great, the DAT recorder and Mic where in his front shirt pocket. Still listening to it makes the hair on my arms stand up, you know what I mean.
I will have him talk to you.MP3 is playing for just a minute because it is still downloading onto web site as I type this. I picked SAMEDAY because this was the best I have ever heard this song done. We only have first five songs, that is another funny story, lets just say my husband is NOT MR. SERIOUS when it comes to recording, he was having to fun fun moving around!!!!

Let me know if it gets better.
uhh, ohh, it’s telling me transfer aborted not enough space, let me go get Juan
I am going to keep editing this instead of making another post.
That is as all that page can hold of the sound file, J just gets into his solo, It is sort of like sex when you’re married and the children burst in the door, sorry, I hope that will give you some idea of the energy. The whole floor was bouncing up and down to this song, like I have never seen at a show. I can’t wait to hear Sloans stuff.I agree with Den Buck, Thanks Mr. Sloan, and I do hope you were not offended by the" serious" comment, dude you were so "On Call’
Dr. Sloan Simpson. I have been watching my husband work on my photos that I want to post here. It’s taking some time. I wanted to write about the show but I am busy with the photos and such. I do want to tell Y’all and Sloan that Hatchetface has made a small setlist error, this was comfirmed when listening to a DAT recording my husband made of the first 5 songs. They are as follows:
Freedom (Dave made this so funky, danceable, you should have seen the crowd)
The Lung
Everybody lets me down
What else is New
SamedayJust as we remembered. If y’all want a taste of the show before Sloan can put up his good stuff, we have the first five songs but the file sizes are too large for our server! If anyone has any ideas of where we can post or how? I could I guess talk to Anthony but this is not great quality and just first few songs but it is a good taste, you know what I mean?
Hey Freaks, good news, my computer is back up, my husband just unplugged the modem and plugged it back in, I hate when it’s that easy.
THE SHOW WAS TAPED, I mean this guy this tape guy was SO FUCKING SERIOUS about his job, he came to the show to work. I did not see Chris the guy who taped Caledonia.
I hope that show shows up at the groove. My husband knows the guy by face, We think he is a WIDESPREAD tape head, but what a show!! Have faith it will show up.THE BEST NEWS< THE SHOW WAS VIDEO TAPED!!!!!
but when I asked the guy what he was going to do with that video tape
he said "Give it to the band, they hired me to make it!"
Will we ever see it? Who knows? I hope so.April 28, 2004 at 6:40 pm in reply to: Anyone going to the Fog show in Athens, ask J if he will be #101390Yes, I think that is why I posted that today. I know some of those fans read and post here. This is an example of one (below) offering an apology after sobbering up. I wish all y’all could be here.
Yes and you are right I mean I understand getting over excited also, I worship J, but Ya’ know, you gotta have some manners, you got to hold it together.Joined: 29 Jan 2004

In case J reads this forum I apologize for my rude question outside after the show in Athens. If *I* was not doing the same old shi… it wouldnt have happened. Thank you for the music you have given us.April 28, 2004 at 12:07 pm in reply to: Anyone going to the Fog show in Athens, ask J if he will be #101388Guys, I just wanted to follow that post up with, you know
I don’t even think J is bothered as much as I think he is. I have trouble with this group of guys, I don’t think J does. Sorry! I suddenly got into a bad head space thinking of seeing them yet again. The truth is J can deal. There are a lot of us who have known each other by face for a while. A lot of us are nice people I I just have issues with loud, pushy people, one of them was so pushy and grabbing at J drunk, that J refused to autograph a 7 inch and then the guy offered (still yelling) to pay him $200 bucks, J just smiled and turned away.April 28, 2004 at 11:47 am in reply to: Anyone going to the Fog show in Athens, ask J if he will be #101387I will ask Dave, although I have asked J questions on two different occasions when he has been crawling around on his hands and knees on stage plugging in stuff, he has always been very nice and answered, I just hate to bug him. He has a whole group of guys (like 5 or 6) that just bug the fuck out of him everytime he comes down south.
Like you Mr. Capricorn from South Carolina, I don’t think J is going to marry you or let you move in with him so can you just come tonight and behave yourself. Sorry Ammaringnyc, I had to get that out.I am sure show is MA will be SOLO, I read it in the Barlow article that Den Buck posted, I think! Can anyone else confirm this? I will still ask?
