Thanks so much guys for bringing and putting up that show.
It is interesting to see the progress from that show to Athens, (almost same set) By the time he got to Athens he F*CKing nailed
that stuff, and thats the truth!!!!Cool so Cool, I’m going to see J play tonight,
on my computer!!!! Anthony, I really like that shot of J’s shoes at your site over there. Shoes and cords, ahhhhhhh.
Oh, I know you guys are probably tired of hearing me ramble on and on. I have great news I am taking a internet break for lent, tomorrow is Fat Tuesday so I am down to the end. We don’t do meat or TV in this house so the internet and coffee were my pick for myself. This is our 9th lent as a family way cool.
February 23, 2004 at 2:49 pm in reply to: J in nY Sat Feb 21, guest spot with The Wounded Knees #99394Wow, I can’t wait to see all of that someday. I lived for many years at the corner of 1st Ave. and 7th street. Up above the Internationl Bar, My lover at the corner of of C. and something, that area was wild. We both now live in the woods, he in Canada me in the South. I have a good friend from NYC, who still lives on the lower east side, he visits us once a year and it takes him like two days to relax into the woods, we have owls that hoot, frogs that croak, and the birds in the summer start at about 5:40. "Please make it stop" he yells. We don’t have J walking out of the shoe store, too bad. Sounds like a fun, fun, night!!!!

I have been grooving on this edit thing, I am such a GEMINI.
Was anyone out there, there? OK you are just waking up right, it is 1:30 pm on Sunday, ring, ring, time to get up. What I would like to know if anyone can tell me, what is this club that is on Rivington Street. In the early 80’s we use to score a lot of dope down there and there were NO clubs, well there were a lot of $10. hookers hanging around grooming themselves and perhaps they had a club. Please tell me, has this area been ummm upgraded? Rivington Street, GOODGOD, I have got to go back to NYC just to see this.Yes, I have been. You can find show by show tickets but some shows will be sold out. (Venue Full) This event is all about PROMO, which is good, if you do not live in TEXAS, Fuck it. Sorry, I have Cousins in Austin and it is difficult unless you live in state. Austin is like Athens however, it is worth the trip just to experience. Sort of like the "Fool" card in Tarot. S.
I am going to edit and say full pass will enable you not to have to be let down. Now this event is MUCH bigger than it used to be , say 10 years ago or so. Although I was working with film at the time the last and only time I was there was BEFORE film became a part of this thing. It was at one time small and humble. I just went to web-site, My Gosh what is this, don’t take my advice! Who knows how they work this thing now. It looks like it has grown into a monster. Hold on the music business has grown into a monster, I think I just made a connection.
Yes well Ammaringnyc, it is always important as a parent to remember ourselves at that age. I must say that at 14, I was sort of dumb. I thank God that one beautiful night I smoked pot (Thanks to students living with my Aunt and Uncle) and listened to King Crimson under my covers with the headphones on , I wanted to wake up and shout to the world what I had heard and I remember my Dad standing at the breakfast table looking at me and I was scared. I was afraid he knew I had done something wrong. I REMEMBER, this is the key, that those ages 13 and 14 are hard, I mean, I discoverd masturbation. I thought I had discovered something that no one else knew about. ( sort of a magic powers kind of thing) So I always remember those teen years are hard. Heck, my 20’s were hard. It gets better as you get older.. I would never want to go back.
February 20, 2004 at 12:23 pm in reply to: Northampton, MA on April 30 (J, Sonic Youth, Sebadoh + more) #99221DO IT!!!! STREAM IT!!! I will host a party here at my house for all who wish to view. We have wireless here. Plenty of room for many to sleep. Oh, and we can cam our party. Sounds like we all can get busy. I will keep my fingers crossed for you Anthony!!!! S.
P.S. Snow, You are from Arkansas, DUDE, I was born in Greenville, Ms spent whole summers walking across the river into Lake Village for no real reason. I love arkansas!!!
Yes, I second the thanks on those German interviews. Anthony, my 9 year old is a really cool kid but sorry to say not a Dinosaur fan
she thinks the music is too "Noisy" but likes the "Words" When I asked her for this post who her favorite musicians are. She answered "They Might be Giants" and "Beethoven" Still a cool kid!I wanted to write on about Tarpit but I am being pulled out the door. bye.
Flying cloud, thanks so much for that J. quote, that is so true, We have many little festivals in Athens and Surrounding areas and my daughter has been the "face painter" for about 3 years now (she is really good) and my understanding of "please excuse it for getting high" is probably a pretty self explanatory interpretation.
and Kracked just reading your post while looking at that photograph under your name made me laugh so hard . I feel 9 at times.
February 18, 2004 at 11:49 am in reply to: reissues on Merge & new J album later this year on Merge #99288Jeremiah, you said "all that + they are based in NC

I say a big yes to that ! I wanted to invite all of those who are interested in Music and NorthCarolina to meet us at the leaf festival in May, bring your instruments and come. LEAF was voted one of the top music festivals in the USA at this time. I know it is kind of Hippie but hey, Nothing like listening and playing music until 4am and then being dragged up to meditation and Yoga at 9am then have a big Veggie breakfast and then it is time to start having another great day. Children have there own Jam areas, check it out http://www.theleaf.com”>http://www.theleaf.com All musicians of all types to be found there. P.S. A Big yes to reissues, sorry I got off subject. Oh no, another apology, perhaps I should go back on that medication?
I think I just broke my "Freak Scene" registration terms of agreement. To post nothing vulgar, slanderous, or sexually-oriented. Oh, my Ja, I am down on my knees (hey, thats seems to be a theme with me today) begging for forgiveness. S.
p.s. I could make it a 45 min. long apology, I am really good at that.
*Sophie* ooooooh la,la that sounds so Sexual, Hey that could be another one of my husbands stock lines "Thanks for coming, now get up on your hands and knees and back up a little bit" It is one of his favorites if you know what I mean. A lot of you guys know what I mean
. Okay, I’m sorry but Sophie started it!!!!So funny, then try to imagine J. Mascis saying that many words at once, all together like that, even funnier! Gosh I want to put a photo of my husband in one of those things saying his stock lines like "I’ve always known that" or "I could have told you that would happen" "Stefka don’t put on any Dinosaur Jr. during the party, it makes people nervous, look at you, why do you think you were such a wreck when I met you? It’s the music you listen to"
February 14, 2004 at 9:23 am in reply to: Northampton, MA on April 30 (J, Sonic Youth, Sebadoh + more) #99208Wow, Guys, I just want to let you know this is a subject near and dear to my heart. My son Juan Carlos was diagnosed with Autism when he was 2years,2months old. WE were fortunate enough to live in a university town that along with Duke University has one of the best Autism research centers in the South. He benefited so much from cutting edge research that is going on right now and that this concert will be supporting!!!!!! Juan Carlos was born into the world with 2 very loving parents. However these very loving parents have tried to follow a life full of truth, love, art, happiness all of which left us coming up short on the money end but so much of his therapy was paid for with research money. Everyone if you live close, GO IF YOU CAN. God bless you J. Mascis

P.S. Juan Carlos is doing great now, He is a wonderful little guy who turns 8 on Sunday Feb. 15th , come over to our house on the web cam on sunday evening and celebrate with us. http://www.villaveces.us peace Stefka
Wow, Coma Girl kicks butt….. I just tonight read this thread, I’m glad you jumped on it. I was getting pretty upset as I was reading down, I was thinking of getting my 4 year old Super Scorpio to go sit on his face ( she is not a great wiper at this point, she is working on it) but it looks like it has been taken care of.
