This is a message for Jeremiah, if you happen to come back down reading this far. My husband was laughing at me ( as he was logged in at work reading this) he later told me "you idiot" you offered for folks to e-mail you for help and you are the only one that doesn’t know what they are doing. Ok, if it is , ok yeah he is right. I don’t call him the ORACLE OF DELPHI for nuthin’ Stefka

As much as I would like to go, the last time I went up to MA, the inside of my nose became frozen and I cried. Also this is a true story people down South don’t believe it but…. In Boston I saw icicles that you know hung sideways instead of straight down. That was near the water. The wind blew them that way, I quess.

OKAY, if I had several hundred bucks to spare I would go.

Yes, I got in touch with the late bp Helium ( ex elf power ) and asked him if he knew anything about the pictures. I asked him to come here and give y’all any info he could. I see he did it. Oh, what joy. Please take some time and visit his web site thelatebphelium.com He also told me about a fantastic site that any J. fan would love http://corndogs.org”>http://corndogs.org check it out! Thanks, Stefka

I wish I could claim title of Queen of Athens Rock Scene but I must confess I took 10 years off of rockin’ to raise 4 children. I was a transplant to Athens having met my husband in Atlanta, I was there working on a film and he a was a painter selling art. I lived in New York City for a decade having gone to School in Rochester, NY> I was born in Mississippi, I’m a gemini so having said all of that I just love music and now that my children are getting older I am able to get back out. I will check with "Elf Power" don’t know them personally but they bought a chunk of land down the road from ours. I am sure they have a web site, I will mail and ask about
photos, What made you think someone in the band had taken them? Oh, and Jucifer, well, I had a smile across my face most of the time. If Tommy Victor from Prong had a sex change and Jim Carrey (the actor) was his drummer. Like I said I had a good smile on. The next day someone asked me "Has Amber learned to play guitar?" and I said "She’s no J. Mascis but she has a wall of amps 8 feet high. I have a friend who’s son is deaf (5 years old ) and I was thinking, God, I wish the place was smoke free! That show could have been one of his first sound experiences. Ok, I have way to much time on my hands if I am posting these long things. S.

Rambleon and all, I also don’t know if this belongs under this index but to add some interesting tid-bits. I wanted to let Y’all know that the best band, BY FAR, on Saturday night was "The Late BP Helium"
the first act, this is Bryan Poole’s band, Bryan was once the bass player for elf-power and talks of the decision to leave that band came one night while touring with J. and he says after a show he came to the conclusion that he was being held back in "Elf Power" and he said it was just like knowing a love relationship has gone bad. He says he hit the streets and just started crying and walking. OK, that is so sweet. Well, this is the band to see. This was about the third time I had seen "Elf Power" and I hate to say it but. Well My Mom always said if you have nothing good to say better say nothing at all. "The late BP Helium" check um out<

Have fun Y’all. :P

Thanks to all, I got it from the groove. I must tell you that was me having the religious experience during "Set Us Free" after the second singing of the words "set us free" I let out a " yeah " and then at the end, the second to last singing of the verse "set us free" that is me with a very loud "AMEN" This song always has that effect on me, well, How great to hear the show again. P>S> Thanks to Chris for doing a great job and even removing as much as possible of the intoxicated girl who attempted to sing with J. through a lot of the night. God bless her, she was inspired!!!!!

Robert, thanks alot. I am going to try at "STG" I will read and reread your directions. Most of the terminology is foreign to me. I mean what is a torrent? The weekend is coming and I will push my slow leo love to get busy and make me some CD’s. I do need to learn and I will try, that was very nice of you to break it down for those who have no idea. Oh, for those who want to know the small poster from of J. from Athens show is now down off the wall and has been replaced with "The blessed Mother" My husband had reached his limit. My J. worship nearly pushed him to take up residence in his studio and after 13 years of marriage that may not have been sooo bad but alas I took him back into the fold and will only worship him for awhile.

Yes, Denver to Minneapolis to North Carolina, South Carolina, or Atlanta, the J. obsession is settling back down now in town. The songs that play in our heads, the lyrics that come out , Yes, we were lucky in Athens but is it ever enough?

I’m suprised no one has mentioned A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers, wow, I really like his writing. If you see this one pick it up or go to library, My other favorites are All Over but the Shouting Rick Bragg and one of my all time, I can’t believe what a great piece of writing this is:

Story of a shipwrecked sailer Gabriel Garcia Marquez, I am not sure of the exact translation, I have seen it , and read it in English it hold up real well and is a quick read, one rainy afternoon.

Rambleon, yes, yes, I mean this is a place for fans to post and I must admit we all have a foolish idiot that lives inside us. I was reminded by my partner of some stupid things I have done in my life. I think , I think, I am not sure. I was going to say that one should honor a performance such as this by really watching and listening. Then I realized that is something I tell my children just good manners. I was discusing this topic at the table my 10 year old daughter hit the nail on the head by saying "alcohol just makes some people act stupid" yes, and you know what , people are going to come to shows like this and talk through the whole thing. Which reminds me last year when J. and Fog came to 40 watt, I had a terrible day the next day, I could not hear very well at all and I had to teach, the ringing in my ears was so strong, I was really afraid that I was going to spend the rest of my life with screwed up hearing. You know like you are tripping on mushrooms and everyone is a million miles away. I woke up on day 2 with hearing back to normal. I don’t know why that happened it wasn’t the loudest show I have ever heard. I guess it is like perhaps certain fans at Mondays show, you know some days you can have 4 shots of , I don’t know Jack Daniels and hardly feel a thing and on other days it brings out the fool in you. Oh, of course solo show was so nice on the ears, Okay I am getting older, and this year I am working with my own children at home so life is relaxed.
