"girl" wrote:Ah yes…The moon roof seemed like such a good idea on paper…Yes, girl…something like that…well, they had a little problem with the sub filling up with water and twice it sank only to be discovered with with the bodies of dead soldiers inside…they raised it up, cleaned it out, dried it out…and set it out to battle again with a new group of soldiers on board.
As a person who was raised by true Southern Grandparents…my Grandfather was still bitchin’ about the Civil War in the 1970’s, I must say….the war was not just about slavery….slavery was/is horrible…the problem was that…oh, never mind…but, I hope it’s understood, that the Northern states were pretty dependent on our cheap cotton and fruits…free labor wasn’t free…and Southern folks just got a little triggered because they felt they were being turned around and "hit" from the backside. I’m sure the women were powdering themselves and their babies and were not a part of the decision to go to war…but most men get real uptight when they feel they are being "controlled" by someone else…forced into things…and being told what to do.
Oh, my Grandfather had issues with Blacks, Jews and Yankees..so sad because he was an educated, sophisticated man, and yet still his heart was so closed down and he was so hateful…but my Sister and I (and our cousins) had fun times, while visiting him, we would all stay up late, drinking and wishing things like….Well, I just want to say, Lenny Kravitz was our little piece of heaven, he was a black, Yankee and a Jew all in one body. We sort of created a celebrity show down in our minds before the show ever happened…Lenny Kravitz VS. my Grandfather. I must say, my Mother, God rest her soul, was so determined to not be like her Father, that my sister and I had our fill of Happy Jewish lessons. My Mother took us to a Jewish temple in Memphis, and lit Hanukkah candles for fun during the holidays. She found a recipe for potato latkies and made them for our family. My cousins and I spent time together this weekend and we are all amazed that we are not more fucked up than the fairly normal amount of fucked up that we currently are. (LOL)Thanks guys…I had a great day…I spent it with my sis in Atlanta..she did all the cooking and I just hung out reading all day long. I read about the use of one of the first submarines by the confederate army during the civil war. Fascinating, I had no idea there was a submarine in use during the civil war…a rather crude one, that had to be hand cranked and often filled up with water killing most everyone inside. I would consider it submarine fail really, but an "A" for ingenuity on the side of the South.
Now over to Noel’s blog to see if there is anything new.
cool, keep us updated!
In order to have a pleasant life a good dose of forgiveness is always in order…Chicago Fog has lost his virtual temper with me a few times…and that’s okay. Hey, I was thinking about Murph today and feeling bad. As a former re-haber myself, God, it’s just a terrible place (spiritually and emotionally) to find yourself.
Putting him on my nightly prayer list. Not to mention you feel bad…suddenly exsposed. When I asked Kyle about going to Europe in December, the first thing he said to me was something like "Man, I’m so grateful" and it was sincere. I have always found that a desire to "earn a living" as opposed to earning a "killing" helps one to stay on the peaceful path. As soon as the mind turns and says "I’m going to make a killing" something inside you starts to change…and that causes things on the outside of you to fall into a weird mindtruck kind of space that can be sort of dark and scary.OH, and God bless Chicago Fog.
Quote:"somehow spending a day transcribing j’s lyrics seems masochistic to me.." -LoobieOH, that’s not too negative…that’s just gentle grumping.
I don’t know too much about it since both my husband and I have type "C" personalities…type "C" is even more chill than "B"…but there has been some negativity over the years…Negativity usually manifests by not being able to even get a full sentence out without dropping the "F" bomb or pulling out one of my favorites like "putting up with your Bullsh*t".A few years ago we had an "I’m done" spoken out loud….So I used the one liner that was making the rounds…"Dude, I’ll hold the door open so it doesn’t hit you on the way out…cause hopefully you be leaving with some of your crap…so I know you will need an extra hand."
he told me…"Uhhh, I’m not leaving….this is my house" there you go…he had dinner waiting on him when he came home…..that’s not negative, that’s just grumping."
A few weeks ago I met up with someone who had just spent some time with the band…I asked "How’s it going…give me all the skinny." and the first thing that was said was "Murph is the walking dead" I was surprised…I didn’t come here to gossip then but I see now the cat is out of the bag…
Hey, hot discussion here but I’m too busy to write much more…and I want to…
maybe later tonight!Quote:Frankly, I don’t think J gives a flying fuck about anyone on "his" forum or feels that he owes anything to anyone.big LOL, sure he cares….he’s super sensitive…
I heard once (on an episode of the New Adventures of Winnie the Poo)…that a person who cares too much can come across the same as one who doesn’t care at all.He has his moon in the sign of Cancer he’s practically parallelized by care.
I always thought of J as being humble enough to spend some time close to the floor, in prayer..
"God bless Annastefka, God bless Tom-in Chicago, God Bless Girl, King Tubby, Robert and SG…God bless Tonas and Murph and Lou and Noel"…. and on and on until he falls into a deep restorative sleep.
…
I kinda like this guy….but what are "urine" signs that his opponents are stealing? After seeing Food inc. (you can watch the whole thing on youtube parts 1-10) anyone who "says" they are going to fight for family farms is okay in my book…now what they say and what they do can often be two different things.Take some time to watch Food inc, if you haven’t seen it. When you see what Monsanto has done….to soybeans and cotton.(and especially corn, although we don’t grown corn down here)..they certainly have a creepy stranglehold on farmers. Also, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama have become the top poultry producers in the country. Tyson and Purdue are big companies down here and they pretty much only have illegals working for them..they get huge donations from Republican representatives. They treat undocumented workers just like they treat their chickens…I was surprised to learn in the film that if a farmer has two chicken houses on his farm he makes about $18,000 a year…4 chicken houses about $36,000..the average farmer around here keeps about 4 chicken houses…the stink is out of this world horrible and most have their family houses right there on the farm next to the chicken houses. I was shocked to think that someone could live with that kind of stink for less than $40,000 dollars a year. If we have to drive by chicken houses, and in the South we do, we roll up the car windows and still the stink is the kind that could make you loose your lunch. The flys, the burning ammonia from the chicken pee, the smell of dead decaying chicken carcasses that they bury right there on the property..it sooooo bad…and they truck in Mexican workers to work in the houses. It’s a crazy, crazy thing…and the chemicals that they spray the houses down with…to kill worms, flies and rodents..you have workers in hazmat suits. I did not know that all meat is put through an ammonia bath to kill e-coli these days…I thought I knew a lot about food until I saw the film. My brother-in-law is a chemist from UGA and has a lab and works with the poultry industry…he loves to tell stories about, you know, how the genetically modified chickens are too big to even stand before the go to slaughter because their breasts are now to big for their body frame and because they are too big to stand they lay in their own waste and then the worms and maggots are able to crawl right under their feathers and up into the skin and reproduce..when the chicken is sent to slaughter…any worm or maggot damage is just cut out. Yum, yum, yum…..

So I hope this cowboy, ex-marine, ex-cop…etc. is wanting to fight the correct fight, he does mention that farms are being lost each day….I really don’t know this guy or have the time to care to find out what he stands for but he seems like a real good ol boy ready for action.Watch Food inc…here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1xNerb4yE8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1xNerb4 … re=related
Hey Kbrechin,I thought I would be the first to answer your question….I had tiny chats with J several times and once a longer talk, and it was nice because it was late and he was very busy gathering stuff…he has always been very nice and talkative with me…also have found him fond of saying funny sentences…just 5 to 7 words but often very funny. I have seen him a few times when he seems very tired and doesn’t really want to talk to anyone and after a show EVERYONE wants to talk. It’s funny because Dave Schools has the same sort of reputation and Dave and J are born just one day apart…I’ve heard many folks around town rumble under their breath that Dave is stand-offish and doesn’t like to talk and doesn’t have time for anyone but I’ve never found that to be true…I’ve always found him light-hearted and talkative. I always have a question in mind for J and once at the 40 watt asked a question about having his days and nights mixed up after touring and although there was a line of folks waiting to talk he took the time to answer my question.

I don’t find pole dancing sexy…perhaps it’s because I’m not a guy….I think sexy would be drinking coffee while reading the New York Times…in those undies and heels…I can’t even walk in high heels…I really can’t..so got to give them two thumbs up for…whatever that is that they are doing in those shoes.
but fails….those are great….My 14 year old son has been putting one up on the computer each morning now for a few weeks so we can all start our day off with a laugh. This photograph had him doubled over with laughter. I must say…It’s a good one….If you see someone drowning……

Seemed Like The Thing To Do….I love that song…..on a sad note…fowl met with foul play again at our house this evening….I’m feeling a little sad……BAD DOG is sleeping outside in the rain tonight, she is under my bed room window…. whimpering and I so don’t even care….Oh,boo, hoo, hoo…go sleep under the porch and she is not getting a fried egg tomorrow morning either.
Oh, how I yuv my SG, how I yuv my Girl, how I yuv my J Mascis….

So go ahead and twinkle little star.Oh dear Girl….I would love for you to spend some time with me sometime for sometime. I took a long, long walk in the woods today by myself…and came back home to find I was covered in ticks….like I pulled about 7 off of me..one was in a delicate situation…and utilizing "Engrish" I could say…haven’t not with teeth to attach itself to my yoni..I was able with smooth easy for grabbing when as crawled to down my pants. I then held the ticks in my hands and fed them to the baby chicks and listened as they chirped and chirped with delight….I think they love me, I really do. (I also brought them a few cutbugs, rolly polipoli’s, and a shiny beetle.) I had one moment where I thought I should join the chickens and eat one of the ticks myself, just for the hell of it…to sort of get in contact with the Chicken Deva, Findhorn style. I chickened out because I thought about swallowing it only to have it crawl back up my esophagus slowly driving me crazy…but just this evening I thought, I could have killed it by pinching it with my fingernails and then would be able to sample it easy. I only share this true story…. for afraid I am that I may have issues…fantastic issues.
Hey there are 40 users online at 9AM….I think the sap is rising….I’ve never heard of Primus, much of anything that came after 1994 I’m unaware of…for the most part…get my music info here on Freakscene.
the hardest things to give up during lent….would have to be anything with caffeine and internet porn….gives folks that extra impetus to get up and get going again.
