I’m hoping to get some shot gun shell fireworks for new years eve…although since neither my husband or I are working right now…and we are just living off of savings…I think he will nix the idea as a ridiculous waste of money…but if I catch him in the correct mood…he will agree… they are fun, fun, fun. Funner than a Hitler Youth Dance Party.

youtube video of shot-gun shell fireworks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkePRpd5pNw BkePRpd5pNw

ps. I thought I had to use the word funner…instead of more fun because, you know I’m a talkin’ ’bout a shotgun new years eve event…everybody brings out their guns for new years eve…in fact…if you look at 911 records..the first call of a new year will always be a "Shots Fired" call. We had our good gay friend from San Francisco with us a few years ago…and he got scared…he was like, hanging onto me after mid-night saying….I’m getting on the first plane out of this shitty red state before I end up dead. WTF is this…it sounds like a war. Our poor dogs will bark and cry and bark and cry…running through the whole house frantic, I hate that part of new years eve. Someone is always on "be with the dogs" duty. Because they think, our whole life is about to go down the drain…and they want to protect us from it all. If only they understood time..understood…it was the month of January…remember, it’s real cold,we are burning lots of wood and we have been filling our tummys with lots of bad sugary foods…we have the Christmas tree up still….the gun fire night is coming soon, but still every year…they don’t get it.

Oh, yeah, I know there is nothing dumber than guns and alcohol mixed together. We don’t drink in this house but every year in the South there is that person that is forced to understand…what goes up…must come down…and that it would have been best to use special shells that are not dangerous. Stupid is really found everywhere, not just in the South, although sometimes it feels like it’s more in the South…(it’s not really, I’ve traveled a little and found stupid everywhere)

I don’t have time to go into my long winded gun speech but I’m home alone with the children a bit and I live down a long dirt road, we have weathered all kind of storms when Dad has been away… tornadoes, power outages…all kind of things…the kids asked me all the time when they were young "Mama, are you scared when Daddy is away?" and my answer was and is always…never…never ever afraid…I have a great alert dog, my dog barks when someone enters my drive..which is a good distance away from the house and I have the holy trinity of guns, the handgun, the rifle and a sawed-off shot gun (within the legal GA limit) and I know how to load them and use them. We keep them unloaded but the clip and shells are in my night side table. Heck yeah, I feel safe.

Also, my children don’t have to read Anne Frank for school, they read many other wonderful things…but Anne Frank is not on their list…I have read the story to two of my older children when they were in sixth grade. I had a very wise High School History teacher in the 11th grade and her name was Mrs. Hotel (true name) and she taught me the best lesson about history…1) There is nothing new under the sun…it just manifests in different ways. 2) History repeats itself (I was dubious about this one when I was younger but now I’m old enough to understand it’s truth) ….I just want to make it understood that I don’t believe I will ever have to use any gun…just like syrup of ipecac (I’ve mentioned it here before) I keep it in my house but I don’t expect to ever need to use it. Read Anne Frank (bless her Gemini Soul) perhaps thats why the story resonates so much with me….when "they" are coming to houses and removing families….putting them into the Ghetto’s….you know and then into boxcars….now I’m not one of those folks who believe that "our government" would do this to us…I’m not too much into that weird stuff….but not to long ago in the past we did have governments doing that to it’s citizens (and as we know in some countries it’s still going on today) I have a friend, the one who has the blues party every year at his house, and God Bless his Mother, I actually enjoy her stories, but she loves to tell us stories of growing up in Germany and it was so cold….she always talks about how cold it was, it was so cold, she says over and over, you don’t know this kind of cold, then she tells us the same stories of how her brothers were all a part of the Hitler Youth Movement, she tells us about all the spectacular parties they had, with dancing and fun. She says she supported it because "We didn’t know any better" "it’s what everybody did, it’s what we had to do" It really keeps it up front in my senses, I have her stories and her memories….and then I see Mrs. Hotel in my mind, standing right behind her, and I think…Could anything like that ever happen again…NO…I think…No way. I know for sure that no one is coming into my house to take anything…or to ever try and hurt me or my children or remove me or my family from my
house…without me putting up a good fight. Our founding Fathers gave us the second amendment. What is the primary function of the second amendment? Deterring an undemocratic government and repelling an invasion. The Poles were screwed…all they had to fight back with were some rakes and shovels. If any one tried to "take over" our country….especially if they came down South, they would be in for a huge fight…Girl, as much as I love the great state of Vermont…I would have to say…you Yanks would be F*cked. You probably have a few rifles up in Maine, some dope dealers with pistols down in Boston but other than that…Lord help you up in your peaceful spot in the woods. We are peace lovers in this house…just to give you a warm fuzzy feeling I’m posting a picture of our new baby..his name is "New" (Alvaro named him)

Sounds wonderful Robert..what town are you stuck in? We played games today also….but as usual, it gets difficult with my Scorpio daughter..all of my children are like little peace-niks and she, she was cut from another mold..and if she starts losing… she gets real upset, then either big brother, sister or Daddy will laugh at her and then something ends up getting thrown. We will just call her competitive, although I secretly have another word in my head that I use. Lots of good food here also…My husband made a super dessert with all the Christmas leftovers, he took some baklava and put banana pudding on top of it…and then covered that with chocolate sauce, amaretto liqueur and pomegranate seeds. We were laughing at him, and he was just saying over and over "it’s really good, I think I just came up with a new dessert" I’ll just call him a stoner.

yes SG, he died this afternoon around 3pm, although he was showing no brain activity yesterday, I think that is why there was confusion…it was all over but the shouting by this morning… making the decision to take him off the ventilator, decisions about organ donation etc… My daughter Liliana’s teacher Chris, is a very close friend of Vic’s…and can be seen playing bass in the video I posted here from youtube called Cobbham Blues. Great song. Here is an interview with Terry Gross from the radio show Fresh Air..from just a few weeks ago. Lots of suicide and death talk. Not an upbeat interview really but if you would like to hear it..it’s here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=120978388″>http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor … =120978388

Heck yes there are bigfoots around…my husband says…thats just nuts, if that were the case we would have found bones…lots of bones and the corpses of the elderly bigfoots laying around the forest half rotting…I must say…that is a good point.

I’m still awake tidying up for Santa (wink, wink) I have my nephews and nieces here with me (they are in their 20’s), the kachelofan is filled to the top, the stockings have been hung with care, the baklava has been ripening in the pan for days. My husband is stretched out in front of the fire reading. Alvaro is asleep in his Santa PJ’s….the peacefulness of this Christmas Eve has fully come down upon our little house. I’m feeling blessed to capacity (as usual)…running off to do Midnight Mass.
I am so thankful on this Christmas Eve for every little beautiful thing God has given me.

OH, prayer needed…I don’t know if you have heard but Vic is in a coma and nobody around town seems to know what led up to this. Here is an article from the Athens Banner Herald or as we like to call it the Banana Herald. http://onlineathens.com/stories/122409/bre_539348909.shtml”>http://onlineathens.com/stories/122409/ … 8909.shtml

I don’t believe in ghosts but I am afraid of bigfoot, I don’t want to run into a bigfoot or an alien…I carry around a gun in my car when I’m doing long drives by myself….I’m only afraid of things in which a gun might not be effective in halting their attempts at "whatever". I’m too old for aliens to want to harvest my eggs so I’m feeling pretty safe lately when doing long drives late at night through the Oconee National Forest….it’s like 17 miles of darkness with no shoulder to pull off on…and I have no cell reception there. I don’t want to experience any breakdowns there. I learned to fight my fear this summer when I got up in the middle of the night at the hostel to pee and a ‘gator just slithererd right in front of me, crossed the my path about 15 feet ahead of me and entered the water. Two days before that happened about 7 ducks had gone missing…they told us at the hostel that they must have a gator around….they did, I saw him, and my guess was that he was full of food by the time I came with in seconds of stepping on him. I have a feeling that popping a couple of caps in his ass (I would never want to hurt an animal) I’m just saying if I had to…..I think a couple of shots would not have stopped him but just pissed him off. Bring back the The Crocodile Hunter…an idea for new show "Ghost Crocodile Hunter" CRICKY.

y’all are so bad…these were some damn clean…hippie boys….in the shower…that’s fresh and clean….a bunch of vegans….they carry around organic apples in their back-pacs, they are so sweet, their underarms smell like sugar…hairy women…yes…..journeys in the forest…yes…stinky….no. Santa is coming like tomorrow night….Can’t believe it but it’s here…and a brand new year right behind it. I’m up baking…everyone else is sleeping. It’s nice and quiet….I like it.

I just want to know…why folks think they need to use a GPS to drive someplace they’ve been driving to for 25 years. Why the funk are there so many ghost hunter tv shows? How stupid is that?

I was thinking…I couldn’t think of the happiest moment but then I did the new FB "thingy" that takes some random status updates and puts them into a collage….when I saw it….I remembered one of the happiest moments was being in the huge outdoor shower at the Hostel in the Forest and going from being alone in the shower at sunrise to suddenly being surrounded by a couple of sweet young hippie boys all of us passing the soap to each other with laughter….not everyones cup of tea (my sister would die….she really would) but I thought it was lots of fun… lots of simply living and enjoying life’s simple riches…Hippie boys, libraries and homemade ice cream. My year in FB (random status updates)

Wow….that was smokin’ hot….that song is a little bit of a wild ride….perfect music for mopping floors today. Our driveway is a long dirt road…and we heat with wood…so the living room is filled with bark and twig debris…and dust…..and dirt tracked in from our our feet from the drive. Our dog goes and runs around in the woods and rolls in "dead stuff" from time to time and then comes back inside and lays down by the fire but she makes the house room smell bad. My kids are growing up like Abe Lincoln.

I love that sound…the horns…the drums…all of it.

Thanks SG, I really like the Kenny Clarke…I had never heard of him…love that song…I wish the video included the whole song. I also had not seen the Buddy Rich/Animal….that’s awsome….watching that video makes me want to go back in time and be 13 years old and really try drumming. I have the intellect or idea of what I would want to do as a drummer but unfortunately I seem to have the cordination of a two year old. Bummer.

Trying to decide if I want to go back to work (outside of the home) in January…I have a meeting tomorrow with a woman who would be my "boss" and she is a Capricorn….I’ve known some Capricorn’s who could throw down a good party… drink and all…but they seem to me to be a fairly responsible bunch of folks. I always found it’s okay to let your Virgo and Capricorn nephews and nieces use your car..they bring it back in one piece without any evidence of shenanigans…..yes, there are probably some crazy Capricorns out there and some quiet Gemini’s also.

Is girl suggesting she is wild…I bet ya’ she can have a wild night out and have all the pieces put back together the next morning. I don’t know about any of that anymore, my husband just threw a pillow at my head and said "go to bed ding-dong"….Oh, I still love him so much, he is so cute….it’s 9 and so it’s about my bed-time…the past week I have had to stay up extra hours getting ready for tomorrow morning. So for days, he has had to hear me say over and over..all day long…"I’m tired, I’m soooo tired" Ugggg.

and girl, Alvaro has been so sweet lately, I told him he would have to go to Montessori school if I started working and he told me "I can’t go to school!" and when I asked why..he said "because I’m a punk"…that was so funny to me, I didn’t even know he knew that word…I asked him…"Where did you learn that word?" and he said "Tiger told it to me" (his big sister, named after, yes, Tiger Woods, and the fact her Daddy (his Mother, and his Grandmother) are all Tiger’s (Chinese Astrology)
Oh, oh, and the Tiger Woods video from above…he said "Tiger "chipped it in" Mama…from the "bunker grass" so funny. Bunker Grass…like Washing Mcleaner…my children’s own vocabulary. (every parent holds this vocab dear)

Hey Tubby, that was a great review of the show! I’m glad to see they were rallying for the homestretch. I saw the Puppets just a few weeks ago…and I just have to say….Capricorns (like Curt)….dude, they are so cool they can play the heck out of a guitar without breaking a sweat. I went to the show with a few other guys and they were trying to remember what went wrong the last time the Meat Puppets played at the 40 Watt…they all remembered it getting "out of control" but none could remember much when I pressed them for the details. Freakscener Sweeney, published a photograph recently from that very show…I guess a picture is worth a thousand words…because I can sort of fill in the rest of the story after seeing this photo.

SG, I thought you were going to throw in your 7 cents towards inertia..the first rule of physics…things like to stay where they are…come on SG, I know that’s something we all can relate too, especially you…oh, well…..perhaps next time.

I’m always thinking of things to add to my posts, while driving or whatever….I was sitting in church this morning and thinking…..when I say "Oh, no he di-ent" while listening to Misty Mountain Hop….it’s not because the drum work is smoking hot…or super complex, it’s not that….it’s just…..the drums have a mercurial algorithm….that’s special. I had to rush out the door this AM when I posted earlier and I was sitting with everyone else, listening to this very cool visiting minister from Uganda. He was saying some really meaningful stuff…but in my head…I was hearing…."I know that it’s all a state of mind"….and then those cool little drum rifts that come after that and then that’s when I realized oh, it’s sort of a "’mercurial algorithm" ….and then I felt satisfied that I had gotten a lot out of church …but I always do! :D
