My page is the one that says…Forum at the top then “Anyone met J” followed by four (4) ???? question marks…but just to be in the vibe of keeping it real…I honestly suppose we might not be on the same page. I’ve never heard of a Trey Anastasio…nice sounding name however.
Hey Edogg, I used to idolize dicks and then as I moved on into my 20’s, I just sort of accepted the fact that I was born a girl…and I’m cool with it. Sometimes I still imagine what I could do…..oh, nevermind.
Welcome…Since you have yet to hear anything since “Where you Been”..might I suggest you have some work to do (In a good way 🙂 Jeremiah, he is like the president of our fan club..I’m bowing down now as I type…he has kept this ship upright now for quite a few. I’m wishing you a less complicated life. Compared to 25 years ago my life is much more busy but MUCH less complicated. It’s kinda of fun and coming to Freakscene with my coffee is a nice distraction to man-age-able amount of BS that I must shovel through daily. Peace!
Just had a chance today to watch these videos….that was fun. Led Zeppelin all the way. Now I’m feeling like listening to Led Zeppelin for the rest of the weekend. Especially good because my guy is out of town…he doesn’t like it. How can you not like Led Zeppelin? WHAT? Seriously, if I was going out to live on an empty island and I could only bring the music from one band…that would be it…every thing Led Zeppelin and I would not grow tired of it. I didn’t know Ray had stepped IYA outta’ Babylon. Nice that his friends got together looks….. like they be keeping the light on for him.
I agree SimonM “Not the Same” was nice and I really enjoyed “Ocean in the Way” (and all the songs from whatever it’s called, yikes, ummm, Oh, yeah…”Several Shades..etc” ) Spectacular. Hey, Spec-tac-u-lar…I Just noticed what a great word that is….could have named each of my four kids that word ripped apart and in that order because they all seem to be wonderously radiating lately. I’ll just go ahead and take the blame for that! (he,he)
Tubby, it’s okay to brag…..When in Athens J looked tired, sounded great and was in “I’m just doing my job” mode… and he did his job well. Also, I noticed some shift in the sound of his singing…something is opening and air is moving around differently…it was interesting (at least that’s how it felt to me).
yes…the recording is very nice and warm….for the type of recording that it was.I have two guitar player friends who I know have never seen J play….I invited them both to come and see the show this Friday…one gladly took me up on an offer for a free ticket, as he would take a free ticket to just about anything, including wrestling monkeys…the other (and the one I really wanted to come) said…”I don’t know….I’ll think about it”…I called him after about 3 days and he was still on the fence…it is a Friday night, you know..I might have more important things to do. So….I gave his ticket away to a kid that REALLY,REALLY wants to see J.
Just YESTERDAY….this particular guitar player called me and said….”I just read in the Flagpole that Kurt Vile is going to be playing that show….I LOVE KURT VILE, OMG Kurt Vile, AAAAHYES….I’ll take that ticket”……I had to say….you one slow sorry Taurus…that ticket is gone…now you got to go and buy one on your on. Which may involve more steps than he is capable of negotiating without help from his wife. Then he went off, “I wish you had said Kurt Vile”
I had never head of this Kurt Vile until now but…I’m serious, Athens is buzzing about Kurt….I’ve dipped into several conversations recently about him.I.still.don’t.understand.the.gravity.bong…It..uses.a.bucket.of.water.and.a.soda.bottle….why.not.a.package.of.1.25’s….I’m.really.lost….

The Melting Point = under 18 can come to the show..I know at least 5 (none of them related to me) under 18 who want to come…keeping my fingers crossed!
Thanks…Well..Dinosaur Jr. reunion…what a run…must be nice for all of them to have some time to think about something different for a while…I’m sure, just like Summer, they’ll be back.. Drummers and the "special education face" my favorite.
I know I mention it here a lot but George Berz…eyes looking straight up, tongue hanging out one side of his mouth..moving into large amounts of time spent, in what looks like the last seconds of childbirth..then eyes closed, head bent all the way forward…mouth wide open…Old Skool Fog baby…it was like George was freaking climbing K2 …..two oxygen bottles short …every damn time I saw him play…but it was AWESOME. Always spent more time watching George when they played together….always wondering WOW..WTF is that? (in a good way)
You drove home in 4 inches of snow?..I don’t know how that works..no one drives here when it snows because we don’t have snow plows or salt things (None of us 7, have left home since Sunday..my road just opened up today but is still pretty dangerous to be on)

I mean no offense above, I’ve had a child in "special ed" for several years, we have a special place in our hearts for "special ed"…and really….most of us, until we find our way back to God, overflowing with imperfections,take our seat on the "short bus" daily. I know I do…I’m taking a whole seat, with my feet all up in it. Life = Good!
My wishes for the new year….
1) My children are safe and healthy.
2) My husband stays safe and healthy.
3) I stay safe and healthy..although my husband just took out an additional life insurance policy on me (I now have 2?)..so I sort of feel a little compelled now to sniff and poke at the smoothies he makes for me.
4) I want to deepen my connection with God and to simplify my life….
5) add additional bee hives to our stock….get some new bee gear (I bought my smoker at a garage sale, it’s like 40 years old, I got it for $5 bucks and burned the crap out of my index finger and thumb back in July, you get what you pay for…sometimes)
6) Finish a king sized quilt I’m making for our bed to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The quilt has the fabric from the shirts my husband was wearing when our first two children were born…also contains the fabric from one of his favorite shirts that he wore all the time when we first met. All the fabric I cut…I’m going ahead and cutting additional pieces to make each of the kids a memory quilt to have. I plan to have ours finished this year…the kids will have to wait…but I don’t want to wait to long to get to them because…well (see line 3)
7) Annoy the crap out of Chicago Fog just a little more than usual this year.Oh dear…I think that should have been running DEER…although, my first little one sure enough was a "running dear"…I was in a hurry when I posted that. I gave all my kids a Native American name based on the circumstances of their little births…the first was…"Morning Light" the second was "Dreaming Bear"…the third was "Gentle Rain" and the last little guy "Crunk-tavius"..or "Crunky" for short.
Feelings of suicide seem to grow for some this time of year. Why? I don’t know…lack of sun, crazy Christmas consumer fetishism? This was sent to my Facebook today and I found it to be a wonderful story for the Christmas season. GIVE….LOVE….FEEL…PEACE. : )
