Wouldn’t it be awesome if Merge released a Dinosaur Jr rarities disc too with more live tracks and all the missing b sides. who knows, maybe if these reissues are successful enough.
i’m really looking forward to the press on these hopefully they get picked up by a whole new generation

Probably only a few hours. Remember Watt learned the songs on a tape recorder before the tour. I wonder if Lou remembers most of the stuff, or how long it will take him to get it back. Drums are drums and I am sure Murph hasn’t forgotten too much.
yeah I guess J will know the songs. I’m sure Murph will too. Practicing has never been a big issue for the band. I remember reading how they never practiced because Mike Johnson lived on the other side of the country. I think as long as someone can keep the beat J will play

Merge is usually pretty good with pre order deal stuff. It will be something Dinosaur jr for sure maybe just a print but something

This brings up the interesting question of how much what you read and other people’s opinion’s influence your taste. I mean if I didn’t read how important and exciting and influential YLAOM is would I still like Without a Sound the most. And if I didn’t know that others thought WaS was weak would it be in my top five of all time list? Interesting points to ponder but really hard to know for sure.
I found WaS in a cut out bin and really didn’t know anything about Indie Rock when I was in 9th grade so It’s kind of a life changing album for me and Dinosaur Jr was the gateway for discovering great bands and defining my musical taste.
I love Without a sound but I’m a special case because it was my first.
anyway, you’ll like YLAOM if you like those other 4. get the reissue in march

I don’t know if you are being sincere or sarcastic.
I’ve been reading the download fest forums and I’m getting a kick out of these English people saying "who the fook are dinosau jnr"
I bet J gets a weird kick out of playing to these english metal heads. It’s pretty great.
I think one of them (Donna) was only in for an Australian tour or something like that. and I also heard that she didn’t enjoy and doesn’t like to talk about it.
yeah I guess it was probably Don FLeming on the single. the concert chronology first has it’s first known performance in ’90.
Sorry I was mistaken, I’m usually good with "facts"
Is there any proof the Donna Dretsch or Van Conner were in the band for a bit. I’ve heard this in articles but have never seen any proof. Anyone know the stories?
I think it would be just as easy or easier to learn J’s newer songs than relearn some of the tracks on Bug. But that’s not the point.
come on somebody back me up on the Lou playing on the wagon. who played on the sub pop single version? if not that then I’m postive there’s a bootleg out there with it in their old set.
They could do the wagon, I believe there is a version available where Lou plays bass on it.
I’m sure at first they’ll stick to the old stuff but it would be cool if Lou and J introduced some new songs.

February 28, 2005 at 9:28 pm in reply to: DINOSAUR JR REUNION THIS SUMMER (??? – POSSIBLY…!) #107156yeah I get the feeling that J is pretty pleased with the current fog lineup. He might be quite frustrated with Lou and Murph if they don’t completely have it together. But whatever, I know Lou will work hard to get it right just like he did in the past.
