Yeah, going to see them again tonite and I’ll be taping again and maybe getting some pictures. I’ll have the mp3s done next week and direct you to them on soulseek.
I’m going to make an mp3 of a hilarious exchange between issac and a guy who was yelling STYROFOAM BOOTS. Isaac is a funny funny mofo!
I talked to Isaac before the show last nite. Really nice, funny, and candid guy. Shorter than I expected and he’s getting a little pudgy.
I brought all of my cd liners for him to sign so he had quite a bit to say:
– new album will be probably be out in feburary
– the recording is done except for a few things
– this tour is to try out the new drummer
– the new album is like a cross between [points to Lonesome Crowded West and Sharpen Your Teeth]
– I said Lonesome was probably my favorite and he said that Moon and Antarctica will continue to grow on you over years.
– he told me about the situation with the Jeremy, the new drummer, and a possible replacement I won’t repeat it here. but he was very candid and was talking to me like I was his best friendas for the show. Good except for bad sound and some dickheads in the audiences (a good argument for prohibiton). There was some really funny stuff towards this guy who was yelling "STYROFOAM BOOTS" for half an hour. I got the show on mini-disc and I’m going to try set up a ftp site so I can share it since soulseek is down.
The stage at amigos is only about knee high so you can’t really see anything, I was standing on the right side of the stage so I could only see Isaac and nothing else really. One of the dickheads was 7 feet tall.
I’m going to see them again Monday night at a much better venue (higher stage, better sound, less dickheads???)
The opening band, Cobra High, was also really great.

life plan

2. Wed – go to comic shop pick up this weeks stuff unless holiday has delayed it, call ex-girlfriend
3. Thur – go to The Weakerthans
4. Friday – go to the Weakerthans in Regina (2.5 hrs drive)
5. Saturday -drive back to saskatoon to watch modest mouse
6. monday – drive to Regina after work to watch Modest Mousedefinetly hand it over days
mike has dyed his hair silver
j doesn’t look too skinny, is he much fatter now? he probaly has worn glasses for awhile"you get what you give" isn’t even my favorite song on the disc. I like the first song "mother I just can’t get enough" and the third song, the slowburning "I think I just gave away the ending".
There’s another song that goes "our love is real like the flowers we smoke to get high" who smokes flowers?? great song.
I heard their song "someday we’ll know" in the bathroom of a restaurant today. I think that might have been a minor hit. Mandy Moore covered it for a walk to remember soundtrack.
The only song I don’t like is "Technicolor lover" and maybe a mostly instrumental one but I think they’re the same song.
new radicals – known for their one hit "you get what you give" their album maybe you’ve been brainwashed too is masterfully arranged and performed (except a couple duds). (don’t know his name) has a lot of soul and talent for a white dude.
Is anybody else listening to the new The Shins? It’s available on soulseek and will be october 21st.
Check out songs 4 and 5

I just found a website about the saskatchewan underground music scene http://www.threeohsix.org and it sounds like a few people are excited about this but most of them are under 19. I feel for them.
The Weakerthans are playing that thursday. Best weekend ever! I should try go to the saskatoon and regina shows for both bands.
