okay, i got a system for the album thread
#1 on your list is worth 100 points
#2 is worth 99 points
..
#100 is worth 1 pointtherefore your list can have as many albums on it as you want up to 100
you can nominate up to 100 albums. We start one thread to gather the lists and another (or keep editing a post) to get the total.

-powerwalkerHave we done a best albums of all time list.
We should make a thread of our personal favorite albums and then compile our lists. Placement depends on how the person rated it and how many votes it go.
Say an album was number 40 out of 50 in my list that gets a rating of say 2 points (someone come up with a ratio system) and then if someone else rates it number 1 then it gets 10 points giving it 12 points.
Sounds complicated but we have a lot of person power
That’s exactly what I guessed it meant when I first heard the song. "There’s no way god would tell you to do that, I know the dude and that doesn’t sound lik him". I think it does make sense to think it as "the god I believe in would never do something like that".
Religious people do feel like they have a personal relationship with God. I don’t know which God J believes in (some Indian god perhaps?) but like you the line doesn’t sit well with me but that’s just because of my personal beliefs and I can’t expect every artists I like to share my views on everything.
I always liked how Dinosaur Jr was never about religion or politics but just inward and personla (I know the political is the personal to some people). My opinion of religion is the same as David Cross’s. Lines like "I know God" and "I need God beside me…" kind of make me cringe.
so what is that explanation? I missed it.

No. 4haven’t read the whole interview but I doubt that Manson meant anything against J as a person or his music. Its more like just saying he recognizes him.
I have YLAOM on vinyl with the Jr. Yours is certainly rarer, I’d say it’s probably one of the best items a fan could have. I don’t know about J but bring it along it’s worth a try. I saw frank black the other day and he signed 15 of my cd liners so if J’s 1/15th as nice then you’ll be okay.
I remember these numbers
Where you been sold 250,000
Without a sound: 220,000
Hand it Over 35,000I’m surprised that more light never outsold Hand it over touring with Watt and the Stooges and all I bet it was a more sucessfull tour.
I wonder how much YLAOM or BUG sold given that they have become legendary. I’m sure these continue to sell very well given their genre defining, influential status hype.

great topic EN and great answer Anthony
my own moment is "there never really is a good time"
but also
"Can’t face the ants
The ones you left
Can’t trace me
Scobble down
That rainy sound
Gotta save me"in they always come
the end of they always come is also my favorite dinosaur jr moment (may be too long to be a moment) how about
"Can’t face the past
The ones you love
Can’t trace it
Sky broke dowm
That horrendous sound
Gotta save me"haven’t listened to it for a while but maybe we can mix and match?
Another great moment, the end of the solo of "nothings going on" when there’s that little super high pitched burst.
