the answer should definetly be "dinosaur". like come on "without a sound" is way better than this. IN fact without a sound may be my favorite album (because of personal sentimental reasons)

I think most of his songs are loneliness and stuff but not all are depressing like the wagon (and most of the songs on GM) which is about being alone yet so hopefull and the solos on my favorite songs are so melodic and life-affirming.
I think the answer is yes and no. but I find most of it make me feel good.

my cover of daydream believer is up again. http://www.geocities.com/bobbydutch/aboutme.html not that it’s necessarily better than the original or any good at all.

                      1. thousand leaves minus the kim songs with the exception of "the ineffable me" which was written by thurston
                      2. goo
                      3. sister
                      4. daydream nation
                      5. dirty
                      6. experimental jet set
                      7. evol
                      8. bad moon rising
                      9. new york city g and f
                      10. washing machine
                      11. sonic youth
                      12. confusion is next

sonic youth have not made an album which i think is good from start to finish, although they come close with daydream nation and goo. There is always something that is too anonying, experimental, or otherwiser unlistenable for my simple minded pop tastes.

probably about 330 right now, i don’t have many tapes or vinyl, i’m pretty sickened by the number of cds i have, I’m trying to keep it at a constast 300 because that’s all my shelf holds.

                          just bought 2 albums today
mercury rev – all is dream
                          fugazi – the argument

I’m not sure if I even like either of these bands but I was willing to take a chance because I think they will be rewarding. won’t have a chance to listen to them for a while though

crooked rain crooked rain – has the best songs on it but is not good as a whole
                            slanted and enchanted
                            wowee zowee
brighten the corners – not to say that this is a bad album because it’s excellent
                            terror twilight

Pavement’s finest moment is the watery domestic ep, 4 songs all better than great.
the shady lane ep is good, and westing.
