Best of Dinosaur JrI was at a quasi-party and a few people were watching the documentary Hype about the Seattle music scene and this one girl i didn’t know kept making comments during the show like "Screaming Trees: what a horrible band" and "I was into Bikini kill when grunge was popular which is like the exact opposite" and "Calvin Johnson is so cool" and then she said "How could anyone find Eddie Veddar good looking?" and my friend Cara suddenly walked out of the room all insulted. The girl said "Maybe I should go apologize to Cara" and Cara’s brother laughed and said "Yeah you probably should". I don’t know why I’m talking about this but someone mentioned Veddar.
My own first crush on a celebrity. I really can’t remember honestly how much I think about it. Currently I have things for Reese Witherspoon and Tara Reid.
I went to hmv yesterday to get the new Superchunk and I looked in Alternative and there was no divider there even, so I checked punk:nothing, then I checked rock, turns out they didn’t have it at all and I wasted time checking for it thrice when I could have just checked once. (I thought they would have it ’cause they had shitloads of Come pick me up when it came out).
I’m really starting to hate labelling music. I was at a party and there was this girl with a black flag sweater (turns out she didn’t even like them just some Rollins’ spoken word crap and bought it just to be cool when she really liked age of electric and stuff) We all started talking about Propagandhi and I mentioned that I really loved the weakerthans and she says "that’s just a bunch of emo music", "emo music is pussy music" Obviously she didn’t know what emo music is, because the weakerthans certainly aren’t (not that there’s anything wrong with that), but said it anyways just ’cause somebody else probably said that at one time. I felt insulted but I was too drunk to argue back coherently. While punk rock is a label no band can keep Emo is one no one can escape.
There might be a point in here somewhere.

I must add the weakerthans who not only don’t suck but are very good
It could be Carless indeed since the song is about the car that broke down it even says this on the Japanese Wagon single something like "for the car that broke down". Callous is too big of a word for me and J

Yeah, I forgot about Mrs. Frisby and the rats of nimh. Great book. by C. RObert something or other
I’m sure it blob. It could be an inside joke. About a fat chick that likes him or something.

I read Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut and it blew me away now I can’t really read anything else except Kerouac and books about indie rock.
I have a problem with hmv now with their new reshelving now that they seperated alternative from punk. I liked it when the two were together because then I could at least find something. Now bands like the weakerthans, the get up kids, the promise ring, and at the drive in are in punk and I don’t think they’re punk at all. There should only be rock/pop/metal/punk/alt should all be together. now I’m sounding like a snob
I thought well this guy is entitled to his opinion since Minutemen is different than harcore punk until I read what he defined hardcore punk as.
I never realised that fury (rage) thing. I like that I wonder if it’s a play on words or just a misspelling (same thing with waistin’). Makes sense too with brings the rage out in your eyes. Maybe it’s grab it and rabbit. Like a rabbit falls away from me, grab it always smashes me. Makes the most sense that way and it kind of sound like it too.

I always say "Sunlight brings the reds out in your eyes" this is probably wrong but I like it better.
