Then Regular John start, they were awesome and loud and fun. And really tight jeans and big sideys.
Then Lou Barlow starts. Fucking great great man. Very down to earth and he has a beautiful voice.
Songs I remember him playing: Skull, Home, The Kitty Song and quite a few others, he played for 45 minutes and pretty much every song was a request from the audience.
So we only need to waite for 20 minutes and then there Dino Jr come out!
The earplugs were needed and I’m glad I was packing heat.
J Mascis kicked out many great solos and all. Though J pretty much kept quiet the whole set and didn’t say a word. Lou was the speaker, and he did it well.
The setlist was pretty great, All added up the set went for about an hour and 10 minutes. Could have been longer, but great show none the less and glad I have seen the might Dino.

Earplugs definitely weren’t needed, though.(from another forum)
In the first video below (Feel The Pain) J gets hit in the head with the beer can at 2.50.

Little Fury Things http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDT3iwblZYQ dDT3iwblZYQJ getting hit in the head was fucked, there had been drinks flying everywhere before that. Noone should cop that shit. I can’t get J’s reaction to it out of my head, he just strummed his guitar a couple of times while looking blankly in the direction of where the can had been thrown, he just looked so sad but not angry and looked as if he was sighing while casually taking the guitar strap off and dropping his guitar. I was surprised they came back out.
I absolutely adore this band but can kind of find them frustrating live. Fucking loved The Lung & Forget the Swan. New stuff had balls, when they came back on after Feel the Pain, I felt so awestruck with that intro to Pick Me Up & J’s what was it, like a 4 minute solo? Back to Your Heart was rad too.
Think they were due to play another song after Chunks as J had another guitar set up during the encore break which he didnt end up using. I was even more surprised that they came back out & played that encore, considering the crowd, why should they.

Brisbane show was AMAZING!
Got back about quater past ten dino hit the stage around ten thirty. Things started out a little slow with J seeming pretty un-excited by the whole thing but after a couple of songs they were on fire. The energy between the three of them was so great you could tell they were all having so much fun especially when playing the older songs.
Highlight of the night was J in shredmaster 8000 mode, ESPECIALLY during the end of pick me up where he did a solo that as im insane said before went for well over six minutes, i was waiting for either my head to explode or J to drop dead from shredding so much, easily one of the best gig moments of this year if not ever. Also we got SLUDGEFEAST which absolutley flawed me live, couldnt of asked for a better ending before the encore.
The crowd was truly excellent heaps of middle aged ex-grungers who looked like the parents to the younger people in the crowd, toally friendly atmosphere with added freindly moshing, well done brisbane.
Easily one of the best gigs of the year so far.
Does anyone know if the CD single (Blast First label) where J sings "don’t let me freak out will you" is COMMERCIAL or PROMO ?

On my list of worst bands of all time, Kiss is definitely in the top-five, maybe in the top-three. I honestly can’t understand how anyone could like them at all. Bad beyond bad. I liked them when I was eight because of the fire and blood and stuff, but even at such a young age I was able to recognize how bad their music sucked. The Dino cover is, however, genuinely badass.

I have got Whatever’s Cool With Me.
I’m just being curious about stuff and I want to know if the unlisted Not You Again song was before or after The Little Baby on the UK CD single.
(I know it was after on the 7" and 12" but I heard on the CD it might be before) ?Also wondering is the JAPANESE WEA CD single (WMC5-272) of The Wagon that has Throw Down on it only a PROMO CD ?, was it released COMMERCIALLY ?

Quicksand is a David Bowie song but J changed the lyrics. (instead of power he says he doesn’t have the wagon anymore)Ah yes Bowie’s Quicksand, that’s the one I knew I was missing.
"mind_glow " wrote:The backcover of Out There says Quest (live). I think when its (live) its the electric version and when its only says Quest its acoustic/liveYeah, that’s what I always thought but I’ve noticed it’s not always right.
At the KEEBLIN DISCOGRAPHY at the link below for the OUT THERE single is just says "QUEST", so I thought it was (acoustic), but I’ve now been told it’s (live).
http://www.keeblin.com/dinojrdetails.php?AlbumID=22″>http://www.keeblin.com/dinojrdetails.php?AlbumID=22And like I said before, the discography inside the QUEST compilation CD cover says that the GET ME single has a (live) version of QUEST, but it doesn’t, it’s (acoustic).
Looks like things are just a little mixed up in some places.
Thanks, where did you check the time lengths of those songs ?
Here’s the cover of the GET ME 12" single, you can click and drag the cover to read the back :
http://www.keeblin.com/dinoflash1.php?FlashFileID1=23″>http://www.keeblin.com/dinoflash1.php?FlashFileID1=23It says QUEST was recorded at Wharton Tipps Fun City LIVE.
Also inside the cover of the QUEST compilation there is a discography which says that the GET ME single has QUEST (live).
I guess to whoever makes the tracklisting (live) and (acoustic) can mean the same thing ? ! ?
Does anybody have "The Post (live)" from the OUT THERE 10’" vinyl single ?
I’ve been searching for 2 months and it’s the only song I can’t find.
I would appreciate it enormously if someone could help me out. When you say "The Disc" do you mean "CD" or "LP" ?
I have the CD (and it does not have a ‘dog’ as you described).
The CD is all black with "Dinosaur Jr" written at the top in red and the song titles in white.
Got it in Australia around the time the album was released."livingbug " wrote:No.But I did notice it only says ‘DINOSAUR’ on the back.Ah yes, you’re right, that’s what I was forgetting !
I knew when I made my post I was forgetting something else I had noticed and I was going to look at the cover to remind myself but I didn’t bother…
I don’t know how I forgot it, I think it adds a really nice touch.I’m lost…
"Louder Than Bombs", The Smiths compilation CD ?. which has a photo of "Shelagh Delaney" from the "Saturday Evening Post" ( 21st October 1961 ) on the cover ?Thanks for the link.
As usual I forgot to say I’m looking for one in mint condition, not used / 2nd hand.Yeah I know it sounds strange but I’m actually NOT looking for the re-issue, I’m really after the "Homestead" release.
