Thanks a lot for the info guys…
I also believe that "Show Me The Way" was not originally part of the "You’re Living All Over Me" album ?
Was this also added quite a while after the original release ?
Same question applies !
Original album track or not ?"readyourmind " wrote:Hi friends —
I have a homestead "Dinosaur Jr." copy on CD, and it has "Bulbs" on it. I was confused when I read an interview with J regarding the reissue, because he was like "Bulbs of Passion is a great song, so when I put together the extra material I wanted to list it first." I was like "Extra Material? I already have that jam!" So, I’m siding with the "Dinosaur" vs. "Dino Jr." theory.I think that the "Dinosaur" album was still on the "Homestead" label years after it was first released, so the "Bulbs Of Passion" track could have been put on the "Homestead" release of the album quite some time after the original release, but long enough after the original release to say it’s not part of the original tracklisting…
I guess the band name on the first 3 albums was changed from "Dinosaur" to "Dinosaur Jr" all at the same time ?
When did this actually happen ?J’s comment you have quote is also kind of interesting, as I guess if anyone is going to know about album tracklisting it’s going to be J, so the fact that he seems to have refered to "Bulbs Of Passion" as an extra might indicate he doesn’t think of it as an original album track ! ?

great site for information on Dinosaur/J releasesThe following bit of info I posted in my original post above was from that Keeblin discography page you have given the link to, in fact I also linked to that exact page !
The info on that page says :
*Also Bulbs of Passion was not on the early vinyl pressings but was added in later pressings. That is why I asked the question how soon after the original release of the "Dinosaur" album was "Bulbs Of Passion" added ?, if it was shortly after then I guess it was intended to be part of the original album, but if it was added quite some time after, for example years after the original release it would make sense to say it was not originally part of the album…
I’ve been told "Bulbs Of Passion" was added to the album maybe only 1 or 2 months after the original release, but in an above post "mabewa" said his version of the album doesn’t have it and he never heard the song until the re-issue, well maybe "mabewa" actually got his copy of the "Dinosaur" album when it had just been released in 1985 and "Bulbs Of Passion" was added to the album very soon after he got his copy ?
"mabewa " wrote:As far as I know, the answer is "no." Back in the day, I had "Dinosaur" on cassette, and it did not include Bulbs of Passion. I’ve heard that Bulbs of Passion was included on later vinyl/cassette versions of the album, but I did not personally hear the song until I bought the CD remaster. I think that they basically released that it was a great song and decided to add it to the album in retrospect.I’m a bit confused now because I’ve heard 2 completely different answers, someone else told me it is part of the album because it was incuded on all pressings since maybe only a month or two after the original release in 1985
"Schitzophonic " wrote:Yeah, I know what release it’s on. I just can’t find any vinyl rips of it. I have The Wagon from the Sub Pop single (thanks to FreeSoFree) but it’s literally impossible to find Better Than Gone.
Also, by ‘Outta Hand’ you mean Hand It Over, right?Yep, haha, I meant "Hand It Over" not "Outta Hand" !
"Schitzophonic " wrote:I can’t find Better Than Gone or the I’m Insane single (if the songs are different from the album version of I’m Insane and the Beat the Retreat version of I Misunderstood, that is)
Is the Better Than Gone b-side live? Because I can only find the live version."Better Than Gone" is on the (sub pop – label) single of "The Wagon" and as far as I know it is not a live version.
Also the "I’m Insane" single is the same as the "Outta Hand" album version and I believe that "I Misunderstood" on the "I’m Insane" single is the same as the version on the "Beat The Retreat" compilation. Thanks a lot for your email.
Just so others reading this know I’m still looking for "The Post (live)" which is on the 10" vinyl of the "Out There" single.
"jeremiah " wrote:Keep the glove on the freak scene single was a different recording tooI thought there is only 1 version of "Keep The Glove" ?
There is the version on the "Freak Scene" single (I don’t have the single but I do have the "Fossils" compilation CD which is a compilation of the "Little Fury Things" and "Freak Scene" and "Just Like Heaven" singles / b-sides. Wouldn’t that version of "Keep The Glove" be the same as the one on the "Freak Scene" single ?)Which is the 2nd version of "Keep The Glove" you are talking about ? What is it released on ?
Just realised "The Post (live)" which I’m searching for is on the 10" vinyl of the "Out There" single.
It’s the only song I need to have all the b-sides from the Where You Been album.
Any help would be enormously appreciated !Thanks, I haven’t heard the Out There single version but I guessed it would have to be a shortened edit.
Are there any more apart from what has been mentioned ?
I thought that possibly the other Where You Been singles would have been shortened edits also ?Thanks guys, ah so I guess if the version of Quest on the Get Me and Out There singles is an ACOUSTIC version then it must be the same ACOUSTIC version that is on the Quest compilation album, so I have it already !
Looking forward to compiling a CD of all the Where You Been singles and b-sides !
