November 30, 2007 at 10:58 am in reply to: 11.29.07 Knoxville, TN / are SBD recordings allowed? #132627I totally agree but SBD recordings are better than no recordings at all right?
Well… I don’t know… maybe not.
I’m embarrassed to admit this but I was born & raised in the Knoxville area & have ALWAYS had a hard time finding, then getting to, this venue. Last night was no exception as I could see it from the bridge but again couldn’t remember how to get down there to it. If they’re really going to try & spark life into that section of town they better get some damn signs up or something! And I know last night was the first show there at the newly renovated venue & I’m sure they have some kinks to get worked out, but the bar layout was a pain in the ass! You had to order & pay at one point then pick up your drink at another & halfway through the show they were running out of beer. But anyway…
In the last week & a half they gave away 300+ tickets for the show so I’m sure there were several hundred people there who had no idea what was going on. I don’t know how many total people were there but the place was pretty damn full through to the end. I wasn’t able to get there in time to see either opening band but thought Dinosaur Jr. sounded great… through the earplugs of course. I do hope the band & all the actual fans of the band enjoyed themselves. I know my buddies & I did!

That sucks, but it’s their music, their call. I know of several bands who are very taper friendly but don’t allow SBD patches – that’s why I wanted to check first. Oh, well… that just means I won’t be tethered to the recorder & SBD area all night so it’s actually better for me. Do you know if any other Knoxville tapers have reported that they’re coming out? I’d love for someone to capture this show especially since it’s the christening for this new venue. Anyway, thank you Anthony. I appreciate your time & your help.S-A-A-ALUTE!
