EIS: This past year has been filled with heavy touring from the band including shows with Dinosaur Jr., The Black Angels, Deerhunter, and others. Any favorite memories/shows from touring? Any crazy stories?
HM: Touring with Dinosaur Jr. was a blast. It was an honor and their fans are great. Oh, when we were on the Dino tour they were filming a video for “Over It”. They had these Pro skaters and BMX stunt doubles out with them for a few days. We had played in Augusta, GA (which happens to be our home town) and after the show the pro dudes were filming all these tricks on the big empty concrete floor and jumping bikes off the stage and stuff. So of course Walker, our guitar player, decides to bust some tricky skills one of the skateboards (keep in mind its 3 a.m., Walker is 6’-5”, drunk and probably hasn’t been on a skateboard since he was 13). Needless to say, he busted his ass and when he hit the floor we knew it was hilariously bad. He hit his head and I think he cracked his elbow. Unfortunately, it’s not on film. J. was really worried about him for the last few shows.

I’m with you on that one. Have you listened to "Stairs and Elevators" and/or "All This Time" by the HBs?

Are you here for information on Dinosaur Jr. or finance?
"…nestled among all the action is maybe one of the most touching, insightful moments yet seen in a Dinosaur Jr. (video). It’s of Mascis putting his hand on Barlow’s shoulder, so he can keep his balance.
It is rare to see the guys not just so comfortable with each other, but behaving as actual friends. That hand-on-the-shoulder moment should silence those who believe the band only reunited for the money. And it’s something that would’ve seemed to be a pipe dream following Mascis’ infamous ousting of Barlow from the band in 1989."
A very nice read. Thanks, jeremiah.
Thanks for posting.
