… Just thought i’d mention, I got a Dino hat too (somewhere!)
Its a big, black cord one with the Dinosaur jr logo across the front in green with the font thats one the cover of Fossils. Yeah!!I got four dino T’s and a fog one I got at the gig in Manchester last june.
The first one I got was the one with the cow face on the front-still wear it 11 years on!!! I also got a wierd, fake one i think with the dino logo in green on the front, and a picture of an alien through a window with a small Alien Workshop logo in the corner.
My next is my fave… its a red long sleeve I got from the ‘where you been’ tour at Brixton (’94?). Its got an Angry Jonny design on the front, also on the inside sleeve of the start choppin’ single… its got a wierd green gooey guy sittin at a table with a botte of ‘quick kill(??)’ It has the Dino logo down om#ne arm. Pretty cool (Angry’s designs rule!!)
The final one is another angry design I got from the without a sound tour. Its got a wierd character beeing grabed round the neck by a hand, and the Dino logo at the top.
Oh yeah, the fog one is the white number with the Neil Blender bat on the front. Cool as fuck!!!
Peace!I was at the gig when they recorded ‘Keep the Freakscene’. It was recorded at Brixton academy on 27th Feb, 1993. I boiught a copy while i was in Germany in ’94 some time. Pretty shite recording.
If you have the ‘out there’ cd single, it has ‘quest’ and ‘kracked’ on it recorded from that very same gig, but 100 times better quality. – quite funny, im just lookin at that single, its one of those 2 cd jobs and it came with some great Dino stickers- one of J and a cup of tea(?), one of mike, murph and J on a porch and one of J’s dad and a couple of ladys. Wierd stuff!!I remember that Blur vid at the back now. Pretty tripped out stuff… brought a smile to many a face and a few gasps too!
I forgot to mention, i won the tickets from Melody Maker for the Rollercoaster gig. I phoned up and the machine aked a question about Jesus and mary chain… maybe what their first album was? I had only ever heard of ‘April Skies’ from some cheesy hits tape my sis had so i gave it as an answer and … hey presto- two tickets through the post two weeks later. So melody maker were good for one purpose at least!!!Heres some more:
60ft dolls
Laika
These bands supported Dino in’94 at Brixton Academy.
By the way, one of my first gigs was the Rollercoaster tour at Brixton. It was amazing… first band on was Dino, followed by Blur and then M.B.V. where they played at the end of there set a ‘tune’ that ran for like 17 minutes holding on the same chord with loads of effects and feedback… thought my ears were gonna cave in. Amazing!Just heard about the accident… so glad things werent worse for you all. Best wishes to J, hope you get well soon!
Its so crazy how these things so suddenly happen… makes you think. I guess it’s all living and learning.
Take care guys and hope to see y’all soon….Just heard about the accident… so glad things werent worse for you all. Best wishes to J, hope you get well soon!

Take care guys and hope to see y’all soon….Damn!! I always thought it was J’s ‘love child’!!!!
Dig the hairCheck out the ‘B’ side to the start choppin’ single(UK) called ‘turnip farm’… J and Kurt F wrote it. Kurt plays ‘leftside rythym guitar’!! and bass, J plays the rest.
One of my favorite J tunes… amazing!!! -
