Freesofree doesn’t have any recordings of this night. Didn’t anyone record? I am dying to hear this show.
September 18, 2005 at 8:34 pm in reply to: J. Mascis and Friends sing and Chant for AMma album #110984It’s funny. I had never heard of Amma till I saw her mentioned in this very thread this summer. I actually was going to go see her local Massachusetts appearance because I was really intrigued at this woman who hugs so many people to heal them (I never did make it to see her).
Anyhow, I joined a meditation group locally about a month ago. Last week when we are done with our meditation (an hour straight) I look at a corner of the room and see all these Amma pictures. I was like, "Hey, I know who that is from the Dinosaur Jr. forum." The older women who were participation just kind of looked at me. I don’t think they knew who Dinosaur Jr. was.

I wonder if J. does transmission meditation? It’s pretty cool. It can get pretty intense. Your head throbs with the energy.

Enjoy

Sweet…
I loved Without a Sound. The songwriting was simply amazing on that album, in my opinion. I never really dug Sebadoh.

The Avalon show was quite awesome.
I get the impression that Lou is a bit bitter of the fact that people who love Dinosaur Jr love it because of the signature songwriting of J. I dunno… I’m not like a rabid fan who knows everything about them.

Yes! Freesofree is a great place. That’s exactly where these clips should be so everyone can DL them for their own. Please hook us up!

I am dying to be able to burn this concert to disc. Your recording sounds pretty damn good. What did you use? Sony? What model?
thanks for sharing… The pic looks great there, too.

Glad you guys liked the pics. I am thinking of buying that toronto ticket and seeing them again tomorrow.

This one is my favorite. It was hard to tell if the non-flash ones were coming out good, so I stuck to the flash. I should have kept the flash off, though.
