Quote:You are correct sir!
cool ! I just read your post about the Seattle show where you confirmed they played it with a capo at the 5th fret.
Quote:However, J may simply drop the E string for the palm mute portion.I think when J has been playing this live, he uses standard tuning with a capo at the 5th fret
Quote:Do J Lou Murph wear them?yes they do
^ yeah, it’s an old Ibanez AD-9 delay
it’s used to check the tuning of his guitar between songsIt’s a tuner
^^^ yes
Source – J Mascis
Songs – that I can think of – TV Eye. Not sure how many songs it was used on but it was in his rig.
he used the fuzz probe live when touring with J + The Fog
That online review was in the paper last Friday….
I think whoever writes the music reviews for that paper likes alternative music, Dinosaur have been name checked several times. It’s strange to have a music section in such a mainstream newspaper, that doesn’t just review mind numbing pop music
Quote:I heard on this forum that he had a custom box made to drop the volume of his muff by a half, but I dont really trust this.trust it !

This info came direct from Kevin Sweeney (who set up the equipment before the shows etc) — he toured with the band on the reunion tour, up until around the end of 2006.
for the last few years J has used a wah made by Geoffrey Teese. He runs the Real McCoy Custom company.
The RMC 2 is a production model of the wah J uses and has a seperate external volume control, plus a rotary switch to select different sweep capacitors to raise or lower the tone of the wah sweep, plus a Q control to vary the tone further.
He used the Roger Mayer Vision wah around the time Hand It Over came out and used one when he played with J + the Fog.
Some of his earlier wah’s were also modified by Roger Mayer.
– earlier Dinosaur stuff was probably a Vox or Dunlop wah
I won’t tab it out but here are the chords from memory….
verse + chorus
G – D – C – D? ( D? is the same position as an open C chord, played at the 3rd fret ) – C
then G – D – C
and C – D before the chorus
just play along with the cd and you’ll pick up the chord changes and hammer on’s on the C chord
