yeah awesome show, i remember wishing the support acts off the stage as i could’nt wait for dino and they didn’t dissapoint. that was the only show i got to see at the hummingbird before it closed down. i watched from on the balcony and it was proper loud and the place was heaving, i remember everyone going off when they played start chopin.
would love to know if anyone ever recorded that particular show, would be great to hear
Great show, altho i felt slightly detached cos i was standing to the side of the stage from that nook just outside the main room. Sound was awesome tho…
Scott i’d disagree with you about it being better than the hummingbird show in ’93 tho: That was my first ‘real’ gig i went to as i was still in school (16) and dino were my favorite band big time back then, and i was really creaming it at that show. Since then i’ve seen em probably 8 times including last years forum show so maybe a little of the shine has worn off now. Only a little tho, hearing tarpit always raises a massive smile for me!!!
Was an awesome show, was suprised to see no setlist, you could kind of tell he was thinking for a split second at the end of each song what to play next…
sound in that place was amazing as well, me and my girlfriend had a great spot at the frony left corner of the stage, altho at the end that flute-spit was flying near us!!!!!!
to be honest i thought it complemented thumb well, but during alone, the flute just sounded messy to me.
great set list tho, and my 7th time seeing him, hop to see him plenty more in future.
Managed to get a used plectrum off the floor and one of Georges sticks, this was at the Nottingham show.
The next night in Sheffield me and a friend were chatting and j walked straight by us…
me being a pussy i talked my friend into asking for us to get a photo and an autograph, to which j agreed, although he looked a little hesitant, and i could’nt say one word except ”see ya”
