yesterday night was a great show, I missed them at Urban Outfitters so I was happy this show turned up. Before dino jr came on this weird folky experimental band MV&EE played and they were incredible. J joined in on drums for the last 3 songs of their set and didn’t disappoint. Dino Jr themselves were really on fire last night they tore through the new songs in what seemed like a faster pace. The Lung and Feel The Pain seemed to have improved also with their constant roation in the set. I loved the extended version of Gargoyle they did to end the set too. Also funny enough at the show i bumped into this old school dino jr fan who said she saw them way back when they were still called dinosaur. Only bad part of the show was that Lou’s vocals were hard to hear in "Back To Yr heart because the soundboard person didn’t turn them up enough.
Set List:
Almost Ready
Been There All The Time
Back To Yr Heart
Lung
Little Fury Things
Out There
This Is All I Came To Do
Feel The Pain
Pick Me Up
Crumble
The Wagon
GargoyleEncore
Freak Scene
Sludgefeast
ChunksI hope they tour together like they did back in 92. It could be called the "are you deaf yet" tour. *crosses fingers*
cool, cant wait for a new album, loved the last one.
what year was that issue?
you know i was thinking about something similar to this too. You guys think J is ever going to return to the fog or will dino jr return back completly? I think there was talk of Sebadoh writing a new album with their original line up.
I think the only way we’re gonna get lyrics are if fans start writing them out for beyond, so why dont we start doing it here?
Almost Ready
Ive been asking round if you were there
Asking but Im always scared
Asking cause I wanna care againC’mon life

almost readyIve been wondering if the message sent
Wondering If i made a dent
Wondering what it is you meant againc’mon life
almost ready
not right

Seen because I lost my nerve
Seen be there cause I feel worse againc’mon life

During his five-year stint with the band, Barlow never had one of his songs included on a Dinosaur Jr. recording; on Beyond he has two.
This writer needs to do his research before he does an article
I feel like the second night’s show was even better. The band seemed to be more on fire and the crowd was really enthusiastic, I caught everyone in the band giving a smile on stage at some point. It was so great that they did 3 encores !! The set was a great cross section of material from all their records.Eric learned the new ones well.

Gimme Indie Rockyea, that was a good show.Glad you got the full setlist ’cause im not as familiar with sebadoh post bakesale stuff. The songs came off very well live especially give up, god told me, sixteen , flood , freed pig (with a great added noisy ending), scars, four eyes (great flanger effect), brand new love and the show stopper gimme indie rock.It was great that the show didnt slow much when they kept changing instruments.
I can’t wait to see Sebadoh live. Its good to hear that the shows have been going over well.I dont know how Lou is going to have time recording new sebadoh material though. He’s supposed to be touring the new dino jr lp after the sebadoh reunion tour…doesnt leave much time.
December 11, 2006 at 12:07 am in reply to: SPOLIER ALERT! new dinosaur JR song up on youtube, from pear #123733that was a good video.I really liked that blurry colorful effect used on it, gave a real woozy feeling to it.Also it was cool adding in other dino jr clips. The song has kind of a reflecting feel to it and I think it works perfectly with those images.
That was a really good show.Out There was pulled off great.I liked how after it J goes "thats new to lou" and lou asking if anyone noticed. J’s new song reminded me something similar to "in a jar" where it had a folky verse melody with some introspective lyrics. It was cool how on that song both lou and J sang on the chorus. "Feel the Pain" sounded much better live than on the album version, more defined stop start parts. I liked how J used the whammy bar on the end of the verses in yeah we know, felt like he was bending tha air around me.
Dino Jr seem to keep getting better the more they tour, the playing has become even tighter so they can extend and expand on the songs in a great way.
thanks so much for recording these shows.I really liked how the setlists have progressed to them including out there, feel the pain and the 2 new songs. They keep the setlist fresh and therefore are still interested and playing with passion. I’m glad they’ll be a recording of this part of the tour.
