looks like J really put the effort in to make that sound good, and that really was a performance wow, J was on it! what a night. hope the other 2 songs with J will go up. cool review that Dino posted on twitter here http://m.noisey.vice.com/blog/nirvana-saint-vitus-april-10-2014-review
Ah brilliant thanks a lot! Looking forward to the deep wound deck, hope it’s not too much to ship to UK. would love to see an I Bet On Sky board as well, think that’d look great.
anyone know every skateboard deck Dino have released? I have the YLAOM one and the bloke doing the peace symbol one, and I know there’s also green mind, debut, farm, green mind alien, j Mascis guitar, alien.
any more?
damn, it got me all excited! Well perhaps J will get bored with his spare time and decide to pop over to the UK with the Witch crew… Or Sweet Apple… Or solo, I’m not too fussed.
woah, that rolling stone weekend show looked great, they played so well. best version of Sludge seconded, and Kracked as it goes. damn, I hope it’s not too long before I get to see them again!
mine came today and i’m already half way through it, it’s such a great read. loads more info about the band compared to the other books on Dino. I love the layout, the photo’s are awesome and everyone’s comments about the guys when they were younger are very funny! also my name in the back is pretty rad 🙂 now I shall continue to the other half!
wow that’s cool, where did you get the zombie worm top from?
yep, I met a Dino fan at a record store and he had a grey Cow top on, which i’d never seen before (it may of been because he’s had it for so long, but it looked cool). i’d say my fave is also the purple cow tee, it makes you stand out, especially at gigs.
& qotsa’s ‘…like clockwork’ is a fantastic record!What If I Knew Santa
Forget The Reindeer
I Want You To Snow
I Know Yer Fondness For Mince Pies
Whatever’s Cool With Santa
X-Mass adverts, Not You Again
Start Wrappin’
Get Me A Present
TurkeyFeastthat’s all I’ve got haha, I love “is it up to me? because I really want a tree” 😀
I think Qotsa are getting better with every record…Like Clockwork was one of my favourite records from this year. as for Dylan, you should rock that Tempest top! although he may be getting old & withered that was a solid record (he’s just not so much a live performer anymore)
@empire2 thanks! yeah me too, my first bootleg purchase but the idea of them is awesome. i’m guessing you have completed the bootleg collection? it was surprising there were no bids on ‘Radio Rucus’..?
yeah it seems eBay can be weird like that, & thanks for the tip! now that you can set your highest bid on ebay, I don’t think I’ll be caught up in any high price bidding wars 🙂those records all seemed to go pretty cheap… i got the Die Barney Die one. hoorah!
would like to hear peoples views on ‘Hand It Over’. for me, it’s my second favourite & if ylaom weren’t so god damn sexy then it’d be my fave album of all time. I know it’s not the album in which people talk about a lot, nor the tracks on it really (beside Alone perhaps?) but I believe it’s one of J’s finest works. maybe because it was going to be the last Dino record, he added a couple of trumpets & more diverse tracks or whatever and I like how he didn’t strive to put a big hit in there like ‘feel the pain’, and kept it simple. i do believe the songs are underrated, the whole album is so hard hitting and powerful, much like many dinosaur records, but there’s something i love about Hand It Over. & when i tell people this they are quite surprised to hear that i love ‘hand it over’ so much out of all of them, and then i get surprised that they don’t love it just as much. i suppose how much you like an album depends on how much you’ve heard of it, and with 10 dino albums to pick from…blah blah blah. basically i like Hand It Over a lot.
also, was the J Mascis + the fog albums meant to be practically the same as the Dinosaur records? because i find them a lot different. (less heavy, less solos, more singing and so on…)
