Funny you should mention that album (LOVE the cover, btw). I broke this out on vinyl last Saturday night and man, does it sound awesome. Sometimes I tend to associate him with his softer stuff and forget Neil can rock out with the best of em….
RuPAUL- Just a Little In & Out
No really, this is a real song

Hey, I usually don’t get into this Happy Birthday stuff but Happy B- Day.
I’d also like to throw out an idea. Anna, as our resident therapist I say you start a thread to offer some advice on life, relationships, and the like. Ya know, like a Dear Abbey for freaks….

SPoon- Sister Jack
I’m not real impressed with these guys……

SloBBerbone- Crow Pot Pie

Yeah, Bill Laswell, the Axiom dude. Although, I may be wrong about that too.

Anyway, I love No Bones. The "counterpoint" between the guitar and bass is exquisit (please don’t knock me for using the term "counterpoint") and then, it floats off on a plane…
Love that.Yeah there`s tons of Sun Ra reissues over the years. He recorded alot.
Bill Laswell was the Axiom guy correct
I love the part in the middle of No Bones where J`s guitar distortion washes over you like a wave

I’ve always realy loved the intro to Tarpit. The guitar starting with the hi hat and another guitar coming in followed by Murph’s booming drums. It always seemed like a perfect way to kick of a show to me.

We could start a topic with: the first song ever to use…. and 90% will be a beatlesong
Might cost me a couple of karma"s
Don’t worry, for the Beatles I’ll take the karma hit. People need to understand the significance. There never was, nor will there ever be anyone that can match the musical contributions of the greatest band in history. A few more gems….
A Day in the Life: After the final note, Lennon had producer George Martin dub in a high pitched tone, which most humans can’t hear, but drives dogs crazy.
Back in the USSR: This opens with the sound of an airplane flying from left to right across the speakers. Stereo was relatively new, so this was very innovative for the time.
I Feel Fine: The first note was the first time feedback was used on a record. It was created when Paul McCartney pushed his bass up against an amplifier.
Sun King: The Beatles got the idea to use reverb on this after hearing Fleetwood Mac’s "Albatross."
We Can Work it Out: A promotional film was made to support this song. It was one of the first music videos.
Yer Blues: A 9 minute version with Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell was performed on the Rolling Stones’ Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus. Taped as a British TV special in 1968, it never aired but was released on video in 1995. This was Lennon’s first performance without The Beatles.
You’ve Got tO Hide You’re Love Away: This was the first gay rock song, a message to Beatles manager Brian Epstein, who was gay.
Oh yeah, they pretty much poineered eight track recording, double tracking, and variable speed recording, too. Other than that, they’re just another band from Liverpool….

Okay not magical but still…….
Ah yes, my calculations show there are exactly 2,458,964 magic Beatles moments. I really shouldn’t get started on the Beatles but, a couple of my personal favorites:
Happinesss is a Warm Gun: George Martin brought up a track too quickly. Originally, John sang the "I need a fix" line twice, but the first was supposed to be left out in the release. The end of the first "down," though, ended up on the master.
Rain: This was the first song to use a tape played backwards, which created the strange audio effect. John Lennon discovered the technique when he put the tape for "Tomorrow Never Knows" on the wrong way. He was stoned at the time, and producer George Martin had to convince him that using a backward recording for the entire song was a bad idea.

OK, I’ll admit I used to listen to this. I actually used to like that song Gods of War from the same album. What was I thinking?

Kenny Wayne ShEPPARD- Ledbetter Heights
DeftONEs- Adrenaline
I thought it was "What are you, Who are you, How are you"
